This Senior DevOps Engineer role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, software engineering, and scientific computing, supporting advanced computational fluid dynamics software used in high-impact research environments. You will contribute to the evolution of a modern, cloud-based scientific platform that enables engineers and scientists to generate highly accurate predictive simulations. The role combines hands-on DevOps engineering with strategic responsibility for infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability. You will operate within a highly specialized, collaborative global team working on complex, compute-intensive systems. This position offers significant technical depth, including CI/CD systems, AWS architecture, and build/release engineering for cross-platform scientific applications. It also provides exposure to cutting-edge research environments and close collaboration with highly qualified scientific and engineering experts. Your work will directly support the delivery of advanced simulation tools used across multiple industries.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and build systems for cross-platform desktop and HPC scientific applications
- Manage software release processes, versioning, and secure distribution mechanisms
- Operate and support software build servers and licensing backend systems
- Design, maintain, and optimize AWS-based infrastructure for software delivery and business operations
- Manage core AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, ECR, IAM, WAF, CloudFront, CloudTrail, Security Lake, and Identity services
- Lead IT security initiatives, including ISO 27001 compliance and broader corporate security implementations
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure and operational tooling
- Administer and support multiple enterprise tools and platforms (GitHub, AWS, Office systems, email and marketing services)
- Act as a key engineering decision-maker and technical point of contact within the team
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, software engineering, or IT infrastructure roles
- Strong software engineering background, ideally including C++ or other compiled languages
- Deep understanding of build systems, compilation pipelines, and complex software build environments
- Proven experience managing CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release engineering processes
- Experience working with large, compiled, or non-web-based codebases
- Strong AWS infrastructure expertise and hands-on cloud operations experience
- Solid understanding of IT security best practices and ISO 27001 compliance requirements
- Experience with scripting or automation (Python preferred) for CI and operational workflows
- Familiarity with software licensing systems and enterprise distribution models is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to make architectural and technical decisions independently
