Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A (AI First)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A (AI First) based in United States.

This is an opportunity to join a modern FP&A team where finance expertise and AI-driven automation work hand in hand.
You will own core budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling processes while helping transform how recurring finance work gets done.
Rather than simply producing reports manually, you will design scalable workflows, agents, and systems that make analysis faster and more reliable.
The role combines financial judgment with data fluency, requiring you to validate AI-generated outputs and ensure every insight is accurate and decision-ready.
You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, G&A, Accounting, and Data teams to translate financial information into actionable business decisions.
Working in a remote-first environment, you will help establish trusted data foundations, improve reporting efficiency, and raise the analytical capabilities of the broader organization.
This is an ideal role for a finance professional who is curious about AI, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated to build the future of FP&A.

Accountabilities
  • Own and operate AI-enabled FP&A workflows for recurring activities such as variance analysis, commentary, cohort and retention analysis, board metrics, and routine financial data pulls.
  • Use AI tools as a core part of financial analysis, modeling, reporting, and commentary while following appropriate data-handling and team practices.
  • Design and maintain AI agents, prompts, calculation templates, and automated workflows, creating the documentation and context required for reliable outputs.
  • Determine which finance activities should be automated, which require human review, and which should remain fully manual, while building validation, reconciliation, and quality-control processes.
  • Maintain a shared library of finance automation resources and ensure workflows remain documented, versioned, repeatable, and usable by other team members.
  • Own the annual budgeting process and recurring forecast updates, coordinating inputs from department leaders and maintaining key assumptions.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial model covering revenue, expenses, headcount, cash, and scenario planning, with an emphasis on scalable and configurable modeling.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses that help leadership evaluate business decisions quickly and confidently.
  • Own monthly reporting, including actuals versus budget and forecast, variance analysis, and management commentary.
  • Support leadership and board reporting by preparing financial metrics, dashboards, and decision-support materials.
  • Partner with Accounting during month-end close to ensure financial results are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
  • Own core SaaS metrics, including ARR/MRR, net and gross revenue retention, churn, CAC, and LTV, ensuring definitions remain consistent across reporting.
  • Analyze customer, product, and segment profitability and communicate insights to the stakeholders positioned to act on them.
  • Build and maintain BI reports and trusted data sources so analysts, dashboards, and automated workflows rely on consistent information.
  • Serve as a finance partner to Sales, Marketing, Product, and G&A, helping teams manage budgets, understand spending, and evaluate business decisions.
  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams to define reporting requirements and ensure financial analysis addresses the right business questions.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of proposed initiatives, investments, and projects while handling ad-hoc analytical requests as needed.
Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a comparable analytical finance role, with demonstrated ownership of recurring financial reporting.
  • Proven hands-on experience using AI tools to automate or accelerate finance work, with the ability to explain what was built, how it improved efficiency, and how outputs were validated.
  • Strong instinct for identifying when an AI-generated answer may be incorrect, incomplete, or misleading, combined with the judgment to know when human analysis is required.
  • Experience building AI-assisted workflows through prompting, scripting, automation, or connecting AI tools with financial data sources.
  • Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business is preferred, or demonstrated ability to quickly understand subscription economics.
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, NRR/GRR, churn, CAC, and LTV and the business drivers behind them.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities and proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets, with an emphasis on structured, repeatable analysis rather than manual spreadsheet production.
  • Working knowledge of the three financial statements and subscription revenue recognition.
  • Experience with ERP, planning, and business intelligence tools such as NetSuite, Cube, QuickSight, or comparable platforms.
  • Understanding of how finance, business, and data systems connect, including how information moves between source systems and reporting environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to break ambiguous business questions into clear, defined, and verifiable steps.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial results and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Comfortable documenting processes and workflows so that others can understand, operate, and improve what you build.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience partnering with Sales or RevOps on pipeline, quota, or go-to-market planning is a plus.
  • Exposure to headcount and workforce planning is a plus.
  • SQL or experience working with larger datasets is advantageous.
  • MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across functions.
Benefits
  • United States base salary range of $100,000–$120,000 USD.
  • Compensation progression based on demonstrated performance, increasing capability, independence, and impact.
  • Potential for compensation above the posted range for specialized or particularly hard-to-fill positions.
  • Flexible Time Off policy, with a recommended minimum of four weeks per year.
  • Remote-first work environment.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Work From Anywhere program.
  • Health insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Quarterly company-wide recharge days.
  • Company-wide end-of-year holiday closure.
  • Maternity and parental leave program.
  • $2,000 Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA).
  • Professional development budget.
  • Volunteer day.
  • Team-building budget.
  • Employee referral bonus program of $1,000.
  • Anniversary milestone LSA top-up.
  • Birthday day off.
  • Inclusive workplace focused on individuality, belonging, and equitable opportunities.
