Video Lead, Video & Animation - Contractor

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Video Lead, Video & Animation - Contractor based in the United States.

The Video Lead will help drive high-quality video and animation work across a fast-moving brand marketing organization during a five-month contract.
This role combines creative storytelling with hands-on production leadership, ensuring projects move smoothly from initial brief through final delivery.
You’ll manage a diverse portfolio spanning brand campaigns, product marketing, social content, events, demos, internal communications, and customer stories.
Working closely with internal teams and external creative partners, you’ll translate business objectives into polished, engaging visual experiences.
The role requires strong creative judgment, project management discipline, and the ability to balance multiple stakeholders, timelines, and production needs.
You’ll also contribute directly to post-production workflows when needed, while maintaining organized assets, feedback, and delivery processes.
This is an ideal opportunity for a collaborative, adaptable video professional who thrives in a high-energy creative environment and knows how to keep great work moving forward.

Accountabilities
  • Support the video function during a five-month temporary coverage period, ensuring priority projects continue progressing from intake through final delivery.
  • Manage day-to-day video project coordination across Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Events, Enablement, and other internal teams.
  • Scope incoming video requests by clarifying objectives, audiences, deliverables, timelines, priorities, and resource requirements.
  • Build and manage production schedules, track milestones, coordinate stakeholders, and identify potential delays, risks, or resourcing tradeoffs.
  • Oversee end-to-end production for a wide range of projects, including brand videos, product marketing content, paid and social cutdowns, internal communications, event content, demonstrations, and customer stories.
  • Partner with creative and brand stakeholders to ensure video content is polished, consistent, accurate, and aligned with established creative direction.
  • Coordinate external video, motion, animation, and production partners by providing briefs, assets, feedback, timelines, specifications, and other production requirements.
  • Review scripts, storyboards, rough cuts, motion graphics, captions, and final exports for storytelling quality, clarity, accuracy, pacing, and visual consistency.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to editors, animators, vendors, and internal collaborators throughout production and review cycles.
  • Support light post-production activities, including pulling selects, creating simple cutdowns, captioning, versioning, export preparation, and final asset organization.
  • Adapt existing video assets for different formats, audiences, platforms, and marketing channels.
  • Support occasional in-person production activities in the San Francisco Bay Area, including shoot preparation, shot lists, vendor coordination, stakeholder communication, and on-site production.
  • Maintain organized project files, asset folders, feedback threads, production documentation, and handoff notes to ensure visibility and continuity across the team.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, flexible, and solutions-oriented creative culture while maintaining high standards for quality and execution.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in video production, creative production, branded content, post-production, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing video projects from initial brief through final delivery in a brand, agency, in-house creative, technology, SaaS, or marketing environment.
  • Strong understanding of complete video production and post-production workflows, including pre-production, production, editing, review cycles, versioning, captioning, exports, and final delivery.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple timelines, stakeholders, feedback rounds, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Strong creative judgment across storytelling, pacing, visuals, music, motion, captions, and overall production quality.
  • Ability to provide precise, constructive, and actionable feedback to creative partners, editors, animators, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating external production, animation, motion design, or freelance creative partners.
  • Hands-on familiarity with video and creative tools, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro, Frame.io, Figma, Google Drive, Slack, and project management platforms such as Asana.
  • Basic editing and post-production capabilities, with the ability to handle simple cutdowns, selects, captions, versioning, and exports when required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, prioritization, and follow-through skills, with the ability to keep projects moving independently.
  • Collaborative, flexible, low-ego approach and comfort working in a fast-paced, creatively driven marketing environment.
  • Local presence in the San Francisco Bay Area is preferred, or the ability to participate in occasional local production activities.
  • Experience with B2B technology, SaaS, developer tools, product marketing, or complex technical storytelling is a plus.
  • Familiarity with After Effects, Figma-based motion or design handoffs, and AI-assisted video tools is a plus.
  • Strong adaptability and willingness to work through changing priorities while maintaining a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
Benefits
  • Five-month full-time contract opportunity within a collaborative Brand Marketing and Creative & Design environment.
  • Remote work opportunity for candidates based in the United States.
  • Opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of high-visibility video and animation projects.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams spanning marketing, product, demand generation, events, enablement, and brand.
  • Opportunity to work with external production, motion, animation, and creative partners.
  • Exposure to B2B technology, SaaS, product marketing, and technical storytelling.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a creative environment that values curiosity, diverse perspectives, innovation, and authentic collaboration.
  • Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process for qualified candidates with disabilities.
