Sales Director

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Director based in the United States.

This is a high-impact sales leadership opportunity focused on bringing advanced LiDAR and intelligent sensing technologies to market.
You will lead business development from early customer engagement through production, building strategic relationships across the U.S. market.
The role combines commercial leadership, technical understanding, customer management, and market development in a rapidly evolving technology environment.
You will work closely with customers and internal teams across production, purchasing, applications, and other functions to ensure successful program execution.
Your expertise will help shape go-to-market strategies, identify emerging opportunities, and translate customer needs into meaningful product and business outcomes.
You will own commercial negotiations, forecasting, contracts, and revenue generation while helping expand adoption of next-generation sensing solutions.
Success requires strong ownership, industry credibility, strategic thinking, and the ability to turn complex technology into compelling customer value.

Accountabilities
  • Lead business development activities from initial concept and customer engagement through production and commercial delivery.
  • Develop new customer relationships while strengthening existing partnerships and aligning products and solutions with customer projects and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary commercial liaison between customers and internal teams, including Production, Purchasing, Applications, and other relevant functions, ensuring programs meet quality, timing, and performance expectations.
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasts, business plans, pipeline visibility, and regular performance updates.
  • Build and execute go-to-market strategies and business development plans for intelligent sensing, LiDAR, and related technology solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, technology developments, and customer needs to identify new market opportunities and inform future product and application strategies.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of product portfolios, pricing structures, competitive positioning, and relevant market dynamics.
  • Use expertise in intelligent sensors and smart hardware to provide value-added solutions and actionable market intelligence.
  • Lead commercial activities across the U.S., including negotiations, commercial contracts, deal closure, and revenue generation.
  • Build relationships with major technology integrators, partners, and industry players to introduce emerging solutions and accelerate market adoption.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve customer challenges, drive program execution, and support long-term customer success.
  • Take ownership of commercial outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on customer value, quality, and sustainable growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, technical sales, product management, or subject matter expertise within sensors, technology hardware, robotics, or related solution areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with major integrators, technology partners, and customers.
  • Strong understanding of intelligent sensors, smart hardware, LiDAR, robotics, or related technology markets, with the ability to connect technical capabilities to customer and business needs.
  • Proven experience developing go-to-market strategies, business plans, sales forecasts, and commercial growth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of customer pain points and the ability to identify alternative technology or solution approaches that address them effectively.
  • Demonstrated success managing customer programs, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and driving customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and a proven ability to close complex deals and generate revenue.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing environment and collaborate across multiple functions and geographic locations.
  • High level of ownership, adaptability, curiosity, and results orientation, with a genuine interest in emerging technologies and solving real-world problems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required to support customers, partners, and business development activities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship.
