Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team. This is an in-house role responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting all aspects of our IT environment. The ideal candidate will be capable of operating as a one-person IT department, taking full ownership of our technology infrastructure and day-to-day support needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Help Desk & End-User Support
■ Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support requests across the organization
■ Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner
■ Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals
■ Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Network & Infrastructure
■ Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the company network including routers, switches, and firewalls
■ Manage server infrastructure, including backups, updates, and performance monitoring
■ Ensure network uptime, stability, and security across all locations
■ Coordinate and manage VoIP/phone systems
Cybersecurity
■ Implement and manage cybersecurity measures including antivirus, firewalls, and threat detection
■ Ensure data protection and compliance with company security policies
■ Manage user access controls, permissions, and password policies
■ Conduct regular security audits and respond to incidents
Cloud & Systems Management
■ Manage and administer Microsoft 365 / Azure environment
■ Oversee cloud storage, migrations, and integrations
■ Manage backup and disaster recovery systems to ensure business continuity
■ Maintain software licensing and vendor relationships
IT Strategy & Planning
■ Evaluate current systems and recommend improvements or upgrades
■ Develop and maintain IT documentation, processes, and procedures
■ Manage IT asset inventory and procurement
■ Provide IT guidance to leadership and support organizational growth
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required
■ 3+ years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role
■ Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows environments
■ Hands-on experience with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
■ Experience managing servers, backups, and disaster recovery
■ Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices
■ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities without supervision
■ Strong communication skills — able to explain technical issues in plain language
Preferred
■ Experience working in a small- to mid-size business environment as a sole IT resource
■ Relevant certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified (MS-900 / AZ-900)
■ Experience transitioning from an MSP or outsourced IT model to in-house
■ Familiarity with VoIP systems and AV equipment
