HSS is currently seeking an experienced, bilingual Housekeeping Manager / Executive Housekeeper to oversee housekeeping operations at a high-end sporting and wellness club in Philadelphia. This upscale facility features fitness studios, locker rooms, member lounges, wellness spaces, and premium amenities.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Manager / Executive Housekeeper Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness, presentation, staffing, and daily housekeeping operations of the club. This position ensures that all fitness studios, locker rooms, restrooms, member areas, offices, and amenity spaces consistently meet the club’s luxury-level cleanliness and service standards.

The Executive Housekeeper will lead and develop the onsite housekeeping team, maintain strong communication with club management, manage labor and supplies, and respond promptly to operational needs and member concerns.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, service-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-end environment where cleanliness and presentation directly impact the member experience.

Key Responsibilities

Quality and Facility Standards

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation throughout the club.
  • Ensure fitness studios, locker rooms, showers, restrooms, member lounges, offices, entrances, and shared spaces meet established standards.
  • Conduct daily facility walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Monitor high-touch areas and ensure frequent cleaning and sanitizing throughout operating hours.
  • Ensure contractual obligations, company policies, safety requirements, and cleaning procedures are consistently followed.
  • Develop and monitor site-specific quality and performance goals.
  • Complete required operational reviews, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed for flooring, carpeting, exercise areas, locker rooms, showers, and specialty surfaces.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member concerns related to cleanliness or facility presentation.

Team Leadership and Training

  • Onboard, train, supervise, and develop housekeeping employees assigned to the club.
  • Provide new-hire orientation and ongoing training for existing team members.
  • Lead regular departmental and staff meetings.
  • Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, appearance, and service standards.
  • Coach team members and provide ongoing feedback to improve performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend corrective action when appropriate.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and service-focused work environment.
  • Investigate and resolve employee-related concerns in accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate staffing needs to the appropriate HSS recruiting and operations teams.
  • Be willing and able to assist with housekeeping duties when operationally necessary.

Scheduling and Daily Operations

  • Prepare weekly schedules based on club activity, operating hours, special events, and forecasted business needs.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels during peak hours, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Assign and monitor daily responsibilities to ensure all areas are serviced on time.
  • Adjust staffing and assignments throughout the day based on changing operational needs.
  • Ensure all reports, payroll information, and administrative documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency while ensuring quality is never compromised.
  • Arrive promptly and remain prepared for scheduled meetings, inspections, and operational responsibilities.

Budget and Inventory Management

  • Monitor weekly labor performance and make adjustments to remain within budget.
  • Manage overtime and staffing costs while maintaining required service levels.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning products, restroom supplies, equipment, uniforms, and member amenity items.
  • Monitor supply usage and prevent unnecessary waste.
  • Ensure housekeeping equipment is properly maintained, stored, and used safely.
  • Review site expenses and obtain approval in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Provide recommendations regarding staffing, supplies, equipment, and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate pricing for additional services with HSS leadership when applicable.

Club and Member Relations

  • Build a professional and collaborative relationship with club management and department leaders.
  • Maintain open communication with the fitness, wellness, membership, security, maintenance, and front-desk teams.
  • Understand the club’s layout, services, amenities, operating hours, and member expectations.
  • Be visible, approachable, and responsive to operational needs.
  • Follow up consistently on requests, concerns, and service opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions that support the member experience.
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when working around club members, guests, and VIPs.
  • Attend required operational, staffing, safety, security, and budget meetings.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Previous housekeeping management experience required.
  • Experience within a luxury hotel, private club, athletic club, fitness facility, resort, spa, or similar high-end environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong passion for cleanliness, organization, and premium service.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with members and club leadership.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours based on business needs.

Working Conditions

Work is performed throughout a high-end sporting and wellness club, including fitness studios, locker rooms, showers, restrooms, member lounges, offices, entrances, and other amenity areas. The position requires frequent movement throughout the facility and regular exposure to cleaning products, moisture, odors, dust, and laundry chemicals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent stair climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform daily walkthroughs and inspections throughout the facility.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computers, mobile devices, office equipment, and housekeeping equipment.
  • Vision and hearing sufficient to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to work in areas with cleaning chemicals, laundry products, moisture, odors, and dust.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be able to meet the scheduling and physical requirements of the position.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. This range represents the minimum and maximum compensation HSS Hospitality Staffing Solutions reasonably and in good faith expects to offer for this role at the time of posting.
