Primary Purpose of Position:
VPCL is seeking a reliable and experienced DZ Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will safely operate dump trucks and roll-off trucks to support demolition operations throughout the GTA and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual transmission vehicles, a clean driving abstract, and a strong commitment to safety.
Job Duties
- Operate DZ-class dump trucks and roll-off trucks equipped with manual transmission to transport demolition materials, bins, equipment, and supplies to and from project sites.
- Deliver and exchange roll-off bins at project sites while ensuring safe placement and retrieval.
- Safely haul demolition debris and aggregate materials in dump trucks, ensuring all loads are properly secured and comply with transportation regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment, reporting any maintenance concerns promptly.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations throughout transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, and project personnel to coordinate deliveries, bin exchanges, and pickups.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation and environmental regulations.
- Complete daily driving logs using a smartphone or tablet.
- Assist with general yard or site support duties as required.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid DZ driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Experience operating manual transmission commercial vehicles.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
- Previous experience operating dump trucks and/or roll-off trucks is required.
- Excellent driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
- Experience performing routine vehicle inspections and minor maintenance.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- As per the Ministry of Transportation, commercial vehicle operators are required to maintain daily driving logs in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Flexibility regarding work hours, including weekends and overtime as required.
Work Conditions
- Frequent travel to project sites throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Travel to off-site locations may be required.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots.
- Overtime as required.
