  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and medical necessity criteria before services are provided.
  • Prepare and submit complete authorization requests with required clinical documentation and supporting information.
  • Monitor pending authorizations, communicate with payers, and proactively follow up to prevent delays in service delivery.
  • Track authorization expiration dates and coordinate renewals to avoid interruptions in care.
  • Review approved units, service dates, authorization numbers, and payer information to ensure accurate system records.
  • Partner with revenue cycle teams to resolve authorization-related billing issues and minimize preventable denials.
  • Identify authorization trends, recurring challenges, and opportunities to improve processes and reimbursement outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health record systems and payer portals while ensuring compliance with healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical, scheduling, credentialing, and administrative teams to communicate authorization status and required actions.
  • Support audits and maintain high standards of documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior authorization experience within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicaid, managed care, or similar payer systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records, healthcare billing, and revenue cycle processes.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance authorization procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and healthcare information systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and follow-up activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving authorization issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining productivity and accountability.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $24–$30 per hour.
  • Fully remote work opportunity.
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful healthcare services and improve patient access to care.
  • Collaborative work environment with cross-functional healthcare teams.
  • Professional growth opportunities within healthcare operations and insurance authorization.
  • Supportive workplace focused on accuracy, compliance, and quality service delivery.
