Job Description
Folsom Lake Nissan — Folsom, CA Reports to: Dealer Principal & General Manager Location: On-site, 12610 Auto Mall Circle, Folsom, CA 95630 Type: Part-time or Full-time (flexible scheduling available for students)
About the RoleFolsom Lake Nissan is looking for a sharp, analytical, and self-motivated Digital Marketing Coordinator to own the dealership's digital presence and first-party marketing efforts. This is a hands-on role built for someone early in their marketing career — a current student or recent graduate who wants to take the concepts they're learning in the classroom and apply them directly to a real, fast-moving business.
You'll work closely with the Dealer Principal and General Manager, get exposure to how a full retail operation runs, and see the measurable impact of your work on sales, service, and customer engagement. If you're the kind of person who's genuinely curious about what makes a campaign convert, this is unusually good ground-floor experience.
What You'll Do- Social media management — Plan, create, schedule, and post content across the dealership's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and others), and engage with the local community online.
- First-party marketing campaigns — Build and send email campaigns and other direct customer outreach to our existing database (sales, service, and lease customers), and track performance.
- Call tracking — Monitor and report on inbound call sources and volume to help us understand which marketing efforts are driving phone traffic.
- Website management — Keep the dealership website current — inventory specials, promotions, hours, staff, and landing pages — and flag issues or opportunities.
- Marketing sources & reviews — Track where leads and traffic are coming from, and help manage the dealership's online reputation by monitoring and responding to customer reviews.
- Reporting — Pull together simple, clear performance reports on the above so leadership can see what's working.
- Analytical and curious. You like digging into numbers and figuring out why something worked (or didn't), not just posting and hoping.
- Fluent in social and digital. You understand how the major platforms work and stay on top of trends.
- A clear communicator. Your writing is clean, and you can represent the dealership's voice professionally.
- Self-directed. You can take a goal and run with it without needing to be micromanaged.
- Detail-oriented. You catch the typo, the broken link, and the wrong date before they go out the door — accuracy matters when it's the dealership's name on it.
- Genuinely interested in marketing as a field you want to build a career in.
- Real responsibility, real impact. You'll own meaningful projects and see the results of your work directly.
- Direct mentorship from the Dealer Principal and General Manager — a rare look at how a business actually operates end to end.
- Flexible scheduling that works around a class schedule.
- A genuine launchpad for a career in marketing, with concrete, resume-building experience.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
- Working knowledge of major social media platforms and content tools.
- Comfort with spreadsheets and basic data/reporting.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort using AI language models (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) as everyday tools for content creation, research, and productivity.
- Reliable, on-site availability at our Folsom location.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Prior experience running social media, email campaigns, or a website (personal, volunteer, or professional).
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, email platforms (Mailchimp/Constant Contact or similar), Google Analytics, or CRM/DMS systems.
- Basic graphic design or short-form video editing skills.
- Interest in the automotive industry.
