This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of AI and Educational Technology, Global Institute based in Canada.
The Director of AI and Educational Technology will provide strategic and operational leadership across a global portfolio focused on AI, educational technology, and practitioner learning. The role will shape the evolution of AI literacy, digital knowledge platforms, and entrepreneurship communities at international scale. You will define strategy, product direction, partnerships, and resource priorities while ensuring measurable impact across a distributed network. Working with senior leaders, educators, technology partners, funders, and regional teams, you will translate emerging AI opportunities into practical and equitable approaches to education. The position combines organizational leadership, product strategy, community building, thought leadership, and operational execution. It is ideal for a globally minded leader who can connect technology innovation with educational transformation and inclusion.
- Define and implement the global AI and EdTech strategy, aligning the AI Literacy & Creator Collective, Better Future Hub, and AI EdTech Entrepreneur Community with broader organizational priorities.
- Lead the evolution and integration of the AI Literacy & Creator Collective, including its next phase and migration onto the Better Future Hub.
- Set the strategic direction, product roadmap, content strategy, taxonomy, and editorial approach for the Better Future Hub as a global, multilingual knowledge platform.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with technology companies, platform providers, philanthropic funders, donors, and network partners to expand access to AI tools, infrastructure, training, and resources.
- Support funding proposals, learning agendas, regional expansion, and strategic alignment across internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Foster a global learning community of educators, alumni, and network staff, positioning practitioners as active co-creators of AI-enabled educational practices.
- Lead the development of the AI EdTech Entrepreneur Community, including its purpose, membership model, and connection to the wider learning agenda.
- Represent the AI and EdTech portfolio in global forums, conferences, and high-profile engagements while advocating for equitable, contextually relevant approaches to AI in education.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship, strategic direction, and performance support while developing organizational capabilities.
- Oversee budgets, content production, flagship learning experiences, project delivery, and performance against funder-supported objectives and KPIs.
- Capture and analyze impact data, outcomes, and success stories to inform strategy and communicate progress to senior leadership, funders, and board-level stakeholders.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in educational technology, AI integration, digital transformation, or global education initiatives.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder strategic initiatives across international markets or distributed networks.
- Strong experience in product strategy, digital platform leadership, content management, knowledge platforms, or similar technology-enabled ecosystems.
- Proven ability to cultivate partnerships with technology companies, corporate partners, donors, and philanthropic foundations.
- Strong technical fluency in generative AI, EdTech infrastructure, emerging technologies, and relevant pedagogical frameworks.
- Experience building, hiring, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams with a collaborative and inclusive leadership approach.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, including experience communicating with senior executives, boards, funders, or international audiences.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership, translating emerging technology trends into practical solutions and measurable outcomes.
- Strong understanding of global education systems, practitioner learning, digital communities, or educational transformation.
- Additional languages beyond English, particularly Spanish, French, or Arabic, are desirable.
- Familiarity with global education networks and distributed organizational models is an advantage.
- Experience designing entrepreneurship communities, incubators, or innovation-focused programs is a plus.
