This role offers the opportunity to help shape and scale reliability practices within a complex technology environment.
You will contribute to building operational standards, documentation frameworks, and reusable processes that improve system resilience and production readiness.
Working across engineering, infrastructure, cloud, security, and operations teams, you will help transform reliability principles into practical solutions.
The position combines technical troubleshooting, process improvement, automation, and knowledge management to strengthen enterprise platforms.
You will play a key role in improving incident response, observability, service ownership, and operational excellence.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys collaboration, solving complex challenges, and creating scalable reliability practices.

Accountabilities:

The SRO Engineer will support the development and adoption of reliability practices across enterprise applications, platforms, and infrastructure. This role will focus on improving operational maturity, enabling engineering teams, and ensuring services are prepared for reliable production operation through strong documentation, automation, and collaboration.

  • Establish and maintain reliability standards, operational guidelines, checklists, templates, and best practices that can be adopted across technical teams.
  • Support the definition and implementation of service-level indicators, service-level objectives, availability targets, and operational health metrics.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, escalation procedures, service inventories, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve documentation quality, ownership, governance, and accessibility across knowledge-management platforms.
  • Support operational readiness reviews for new services, major releases, migrations, and platform changes by validating monitoring, support processes, dependencies, and recovery plans.
  • Participate in incident response activities by supporting investigations, maintaining timelines, documenting findings, and coordinating follow-up actions.
  • Assist with post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements to prevent recurring issues.
  • Partner with teams to improve observability practices, including monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and service health reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational processes through scripts, workflows, templates, or lightweight tools.
  • Support CI/CD improvements, change-management workflows, and reliability checks that improve operational consistency.
  • Facilitate collaboration sessions with engineering and operations teams to improve service ownership, readiness, and reliability awareness.
  • Communicate operational risks, documentation gaps, and improvement recommendations clearly to technical stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a technically skilled and collaborative engineer with experience supporting production environments, improving operational processes, and translating complex technical concepts into clear and actionable practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in System Reliability Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, IT Operations, Production Support, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar technical roles.
  • Experience supporting production applications, enterprise platforms, cloud environments, or distributed systems.
  • Proven experience creating technical documentation, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, or standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and escalation processes.
  • Familiarity with reliability concepts including SLIs, SLOs, availability, resiliency, service ownership, and operational readiness.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience using collaboration and workflow tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with the capability to organize complex information into practical guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple operational improvement initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience supporting highly available environments such as media, streaming, digital publishing, or other time-sensitive platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices including Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management.
  • Experience with disaster recovery exercises, operational readiness reviews, or production service onboarding.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or Elastic.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, or containerized platforms.
  • Experience developing enterprise documentation standards or knowledge-management frameworks.
  • Relevant cloud, ITIL, ServiceNow, or SRE certifications.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement benefits and additional financial wellness programs.
  • Paid time off and company-supported work-life balance initiatives.
  • Opportunities to work on large-scale, high-impact technology platforms.
  • Collaborative environment with cross-functional teams across engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations.
  • Professional growth opportunities through exposure to reliability engineering practices, cloud technologies, and enterprise-scale systems.
