We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Metal Fab Scheduler to join our Production Control team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and production activities within our Metal Fabrication and Paint departments, helping us meet customer demand while supporting operational excellence.

The Metal Fab Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules to support customer requirements, inventory goals, and manufacturing objectives. Working closely with Production Management and cross-functional teams, this individual will establish priorities, monitor workflow, and proactively address scheduling challenges to keep production running efficiently.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You are highly organized, analytical, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and customer service.

Skills & Abilities
  • Experience using ERP systems within a manufacturing environment; Syteline experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in production scheduling, MRP planning, inventory control, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Advanced organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions using sound reasoning and basic mathematical concepts.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing documentation, bills of material (BOMs), and engineering changes (ECOs).
  • Blueprint reading experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer-focused skills.
Education & Experience
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or
  • Two to four years of related manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, or materials management experience, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment
  • Full-time, onsite position.
  • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with an 8-hour workday during operating hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Additional hours may be required based on business needs.
  • Manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze needs and data in order to determine course of action for production schedules.
  • Issue manufacturing orders to Metal Fab and Paint department in due date sequence ensuring alignment to meet order requirements and forecast future demand.
  • Monitor production progress and ensure items are prioritized appropriately for each work center.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Conduct routine monthly inventory cycle counts and proactive cycle counts on low net quantity items.
  • Complete production reporting and departmental material transfers.
  • Coordinate "specials" packets between the Database Coordinator and the shop floor.
  • Implement Engineering Change Order (ECO) revision changes.
  • Order sheet metal and other material as needed.
  • Train the Production Inventory Control (PIC) Support person as needed.
  • Assist in execution of annual physical inventory.

Other Duties

Perform other duties as assigned by Materials Manager or Manufacturing Management.
