About the Role:

Employment Support Professionals (ESPs) are the foundation of our mission - ensuring that individuals with I/DD receive the support they need to lead fulfilling lives. An ESP provides individualized job support, ensuring the individuals we serve obtain and maintain meaningful employment in integrated settings. ESPs facilitate job development, coaching, and long-term support while fostering positive relationships with employers and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Employment Services & Job Coaching:

  1. Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and long-term support to ensure participants can meet employer expectations.
  2. Assist participants in learning safe and independent travel to and from work.
  3. Support self-advocacy and help participants navigate workplace responsibilities, policies and expectations.
  4. Develop and facilitate employment-related training sessions to enhance workplace skills, professional behavior, time management, and workplace communication for career advancement.

Participant & Employer Relations:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to create job opportunities.
  2. Assist employers in resolving concerns and ensuring a successful employment experience for all parties.
  3. Promote disability awareness and inclusive employment practices in the community.

Safety:

  1. Maintain a safe environment for participants, follows transportation and emergency protocols, and adheres to all health and safety regulations.

Documentation:

  1. Complete progress notes, incident reports, and attendance records within 24 hours of service completion.
  2. Maintain detailed participant records, including pay, placement, job development activities, and coaching progress.
  3. Submit detailed tracking reports for each assigned participant.
  4. Assist with daily documentation audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

Communication:

  1. Maintain open communication with supervisors, colleagues, and case managers regarding participant progress.

  1. Understands and adheres to the organization’s policies, security protocols, and confidentiality guidelines (including HIPAA).
  2. Consistently arrives on time, meets deadlines, and follows organizational policies with integrity and accountability.
  3. Promotes an inclusive environment that respects and values diversity in participants and staff.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to provide individualized, person-centered care that prioritizes participant dignity, choice, and autonomy.
  5. Clearly and professionally communicates with participants, colleagues, families, employers, and supervisors both verbally and in writing.
  6. Responds effectively to unexpected situations, participant needs, and program changes while maintaining a calm and solution-oriented approach.
  7. Manages multiple responsibilities efficiently, including participant care, transportation, and documentation.
  8. Proactively manages tasks without constant supervision, anticipating needs and taking independent action.
  9. Works well with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments to provide seamless support and participant care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or closely related field or a Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3 years of experience in similar professional environment.
  2. Must have valid driver’s license, current insurance, and reliable transportation.
  3. Must be punctual and reliable.
  4. Basic proficiency in using computers and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Prior work experience in a similar professional environment.
  2. Extensive knowledge of supported employment strategies and support methods for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be able to work a flexible schedule (may include nights, weekends, and holidays) independently in a community setting.
  2. Must be able to operate EmployAbility owned vehicles to transport participants.
  3. Must be able to perform a wide variety of physical duties in various employment environments.

SALARY/BENEFITS

Salary is commensurate with education, qualifications, and work experience. Full time benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package.
