As a Traveling Project Director, you will lead complex commercial mitigation and reconstruction projects across the West Coast, mobilizing teams, managing large loss operations, and delivering exceptional outcomes for our national clients.
What You Do
As a Traveling Project Director, you lead commercial mitigation and reconstruction projects from assessment through closeout. You manage field execution, oversee teams and trade partners, maintain budgets and schedules, and help ensure strong client outcomes across national project work. You are successful in this role by:
Leading Project Execution- Managing projects from start to finish, including crews, subcontractors, schedules, and field operations
- Conducting site assessments and developing project plans based on scope, client needs, and operational priorities
- Responding to project needs 24/7, including catastrophe, regional event, and large loss demands
- Overseeing multiple jobs within a region when needed
- Preparing budgets, estimates, and scopes of work
- Maintaining project profitability through cost control, schedule management, and operational oversight
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor proposals and change orders
- Partnering with operations to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Directing job site operations with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance
- Maintaining project documentation, records, and client deliverables
- Communicating project updates, scope changes, and timeline impacts to stakeholders
- Ownership mentality and accountability for successful execution and quality results
This role is ideal for a write/run industry professional who has successfully led commercial projects and is comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. You bring strong operational leadership, financial awareness, and the ability to mobilize teams and deliver results across complex projects. You thrive in this role because you bring:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial disaster restoration and reconstruction
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, teams, and subcontractors across multiple locations simultaneously
- Experience preparing budgets, estimates, and scopes of work and reviewing subcontractor proposals, bids, and change orders
- Strong understanding of project financials, including cost control and profit margins
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders
- Professional presence and ability to represent the company during high-impact projects
- Ability to travel extensively to support projects across the West Coast and reside near a major airport preferred
