About This Position
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
The Housing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing housing programs including housing counseling/education services and providing comprehensive housing counseling, primarily in Tucson and southern Arizona focusing on the areas of pre-purchase education, foreclosure prevention and financial literacy education. The Housing Supervisor is responsible for supervising Housing Counselors on day-today basis. Housing Supervisor is responsible for developing strategies to market housing programs including homebuyer education. Manage relationships with other organizations that provide similar services, identify opportunities for collaboration, and ensure compliance with Housing Counseling Program as authorized by the Section 106 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Assist with reports as assigned by the Director. The Housing Supervisor is required to have a strong technical background with emphasis on mortgage lending (originating and servicing), credit repairing counseling and real estate and foreclosure activities. Other strategic abilities include active listing, analytical and organizational skills and steady boundaries. In addition to being flexible and optimistic while realistic, a positive attitude is necessary to best manage clients’ and team member’s expectations. Occasional travel across the state and outside the stat. Abide by the National Industry Standards Code of Ethics and Conduct for Homeownership Professionals.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSABILITIES:
- Aide in the recruitment processes for new openings within the program.
- Aide in hiring new employees for openings within the program.
- Aide in the training of staff and new hires on processes within the program.
- Evaluate Employees Performance and aide in the conducting of annual performance reviews.
- Aide in the recommendation of promotions when new positions within the program become available.
- Aide in the transfer process for employees.
- Aide in the disciplinary actions process when it is confirmed that employees violated company policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENTENCIES
Education/Background
- Three years of experience and clearly demonstrated skills in credit repair and mortgage lending procedures including loan servicing mortgage underwriting concepts and loss mitigation options.
- Knowledgeable of standard real estate terms and transaction management OR a Bachelor’s or Associates degree recipient is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
- HUD Certified Housing Counseling Certificate required
- National certification from NeighborWorks or NCLR is required within one year of hire
- A valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required
