POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director – Governance and Compliance
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time

POSITION FUNCTION:
Are you passionate about intercollegiate athletics and looking for hands-on experience in governance and compliance at the conference office level? Join us at the Big 12 Conference, where we are dedicated to providing our institutions with excellent support as they ensure the best athletic and academic experience for their student-athletes. As the Assistant Director of Compliance and Governance, you will gain invaluable experience as you assist in the day-to-day management of the Conference compliance programs and services. You will be supervised by the Senior Director – Compliance & Governance and will be expected to assist with various tasks related to the Conference compliance and governance program. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and proactive, with strong analytical skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Research and process interpretations of NCAA/CSC and Conference bylaws and rules.
• Assist with all compliance-related educational efforts of the Conference.
• Manage the Director of Compliance database and materials in Teamworks.
• Manage the updating of compliance-related forms.
• Manage the updating of the Conference compliance website.
• Serve as the primary contact for all CAPS related items.
• Serve as the primary contact for waivers, including NCAA waivers and conference-administered waivers and process requests.
• Manage the NCAA Level III violations reporting process and annual reports.
• Manage the monthly Director of Compliance videoconferences.
• Assist with updating the Conference Compliance Manual.
• Assist with the Conference and NCAA governance process, including organization, tracking, and communication on legislative items.
• Assist with tracking and soliciting feedback on proposed NCAA legislation.
• Assist with updating the Conference Handbook.
• Participate in various coaches' meetings and administrative group meetings as needed.
• Participate in monthly CCACA videoconferences.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Occasional travel and evening and weekend hours may be required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:.
• Minimum of two years experience in rules compliance on a NCAA Division I campus or conference office or at the NCAA national office.
• Strong knowledge of, and demonstrated interest in, intercollegiate athletics.
• Strong understanding of NCAA rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated ability to show initiative and meet established goals and deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree or law degree is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment. Frequent sitting, standing, walking bending, listening, speaking, and use of office equipment. Some requirements for lifting pushing, or pulling items less than 30 pounds
