System Director of Physical Therapy

NSHA-System Director of Physical Therapy-Full Time-Day Shift-Req 9720

Pay Grade: $49.10-$65.06*

Job Summary: As the System Director of Rehab Services, you will be at the helm of the system's therapy services, driving strategy, planning, development, and innovation across the North Star Health Alliance. You will be responsible for the complete oversight of all Rehab departments within Claxton Hepburn Medical Center and Carthage Area Hospital to include but not limited to the development and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and protocols that remain in compliance with federal and state regulations and industry and governing body regulations/standards. Your focus will be on the following:

  • Strategic Vision: Develop and implement visionary strategies that enhance the health and wellness of our community, patients, and members.

  • Operational Excellence: Lead therapy business operations and clinical models of care, focusing on cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.

  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure therapy operations meet all regulatory and accreditation standards while maintaining our mission, goals, and values.

  • Innovation: Spearhead research and development for new therapy delivery models that align payment with high-quality, cost-effective care.

  • Team Leadership: works closely with campus leadership and key stakeholders to link future and long term plans with current operations; identifies programmatic gaps and revises plans to support the organization

  • Financial Management: Effectively manage the financial aspects of the therapy departments.

  • Performance: Develop KPIs and serve as the system-level subject matter expert on evaluating effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Staffing: Recruit, mentor, lead and retain top-tier professionals to build a motivated, productive, and highly skilled therapy team.

  • Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. Demonstrates this competency to include conducting daily synchronization meetings to key leadership.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Demonstrates this competency to include coordinating with all entities/system and adjacent organizations to ensure operational solutions are developed and implemented to meet requirements Can routinely exercise discretionary decision making in a time-critical and high-pressure environment with significant public interest.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or similar field preferred

  • Experience: A background in rehab services within a health system, with at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience preferred

  • License/Certification: Current NYS licensure as a physical therapist

  • Skills: Your toolkit should include attention to detail, strong communication, critical thinking, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.

  • Travel: Travel will be required at time based on the needs of each facility to all facilities within the health system

Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
