- Traffic Safety Operations Lead - Beverly Hills location at medical facility
- Schedule- Monday to Friday 10:30am-7pm
- Pay is $28+ per hour DOE
- Must have traffic control lead experience.
The Traffic Safety Operations Lead provides frontline leadership and safety oversight across LAZ Parkings traffic control, valet, shuttle, and parking operations throughout the Cedars-Sinai campus. The role directly supervises Ambulance Bay Traffic Control Attendants while serving as the campus Safety Captain, partnering with operational leadership and the CARE Trainer to strengthen safety, service, training, and employee engagement.

Job DutiesTraffic Control & Ambulance Bay Operations
- Provide daily leadership and supervision of Ambulance Bay Traffic Control Attendants.
- Manage staffing, post assignments, coverage, and team deployment based on operational needs.
- Oversee traffic control operations to maintain safe traffic flow and unobstructed emergency vehicle access.
- Ensure critical ambulance arrivals are appropriately prioritized by the traffic control team.
- Monitor employee performance and provide real-time coaching, direction, and safety reinforcement.
- Coordinate traffic and emergency access needs with MICNs, Emergency Department personnel, ambulance crews, hospital staff, contractors, and LAZ leadership.
- Assess changing conditions and adjust staffing, coverage, and traffic control resources accordingly.
- Escalate significant safety, staffing, traffic, or operational concerns to appropriate leadership.
Campus Traffic Safety Leadership
- Serve as the Safety Captain and visible safety leader for Traffic, Transportation, & Valet operations across Cedars Sinai Medical campus.
- Promote LAZ safety culture through consistent field presence, employee engagement, positive reinforcement, coaching, and accountability.
- Conduct routine safety walks and observations throughout valet, shuttle, parking, traffic control, pedestrian, and vehicle operating areas.
- Identify unsafe behaviors, unsafe conditions, operational hazards, near misses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Take immediate action when an observed condition presents a potential safety concern and escalate items requiring additional support.
- Monitor high-traffic and high-risk locations, including pedestrian crossings, valet drive lanes, parking entrances and exits, shuttle stops, patient loading zones, ambulance areas, and construction-impacted roadways.
- Recommend operational adjustments when traffic patterns, congestion, construction, or pedestrian activity create increased risk.
- Follow up on previously identified safety concerns to verify corrective action has been completed.
- Reinforce the expectation that every LAZ employee owns safety, regardless of position or department.
- Valet & Shuttle Safety
- Conduct routine safety observations across valet and shuttle operations to reinforce established LAZ and campus safety standards.
- Monitor vehicle movement, speed, backing, staging, passenger loading, pedestrian interaction, and other high-risk operating conditions.
- Identify unsafe behaviors, hazardous conditions, traffic conflicts, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Provide real-time safety coaching and recognize employees demonstrating exemplary safety practices.
- Partner with Valet and Shuttle leadership to address recurring safety trends and identify coaching or training opportunities.
- Evaluate congestion, vehicle queuing, loading zones, and pedestrian conflicts that may impact safety or the patient and guest experience.
- Recommend and support corrective actions designed to reduce preventable incidents and improve overall operational safety.
Safety Observations & Hazard Identification
- Complete documented safety observations throughout assigned campus locations.
- Identify both safe behaviors and opportunities for improvement so the safety program balances accountability with employee recognition.
- Document unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, near misses, traffic conflicts, and recurring operational concerns.
- Categorize safety observations by location, service line, type of risk, and severity when appropriate.
- Immediately address hazards that can be safely corrected in the field and escalate hazards requiring additional resources or departmental involvement.
- Monitor recurring concerns to identify trends rather than treating observations as isolated events.
- Maintain accurate safety observation records for management review and assist in identifying locations or activities requiring additional attention.
- Training & Employee Development
- Serve as a field instructor, safety leader, and training resource for Traffic Control Attendants, Valet, Shuttle Drivers, and other LAZ employees.
- Conduct brief pre-shift safety huddles and focused on current operational risks, safety expectations, and relevant LAZ CARE topics.
- Provide real-time coaching and reinforce safe operating practices, pedestrian awareness, communication, emergency vehicle prioritization, and situational awareness.
- Partner closely with operations management, leadership, and the on-site CARE Trainer to develop and continuously refresh training content that integrates safety, service, and LAZ CARE standards.
- Reinforce a unified Safety is Service philosophy, helping employees understand that safe behaviors and exceptional service are interconnected parts of the patient and guest experience.
- Assist with onboarding and field orientation, ensuring new employees understand campus-specific safety requirements, high-risk areas, emergency access routes, traffic patterns, and service expectations.
- Support targeted refresher training based on safety observations, incident trends, operational changes, and identified coaching opportunities.
- Promote a positive safety culture through proactive reporting, shared accountability, continuous learning, and recognition programs that reward employees for exemplary safety, service, and LAZ CARE behaviors.
- Traffic Flow & Pedestrian Safety
- Monitor campus traffic conditions and proactively respond to areas experiencing congestion, excessive queuing, unsafe vehicle movement, or pedestrian conflicts.
- Maintain awareness of peak arrival and departure periods, employee shift changes, hospital events, construction activity, and other conditions affecting campus traffic.
- Monitor crosswalks and pedestrian corridors for potential vehicle-pedestrian conflicts.
- Coordinate with operational teams when vehicle queues begin affecting hospital entrances, roadways, emergency routes, valet operations, or shuttle movement.
- Recommend temporary traffic-control adjustments when necessary and ensure cones, signs, barricades, and other traffic-control devices are appropriately positioned within LAZ-controlled operations.
Safety Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain daily and weekly documentation of safety activities, including observations, coaching interactions, training, hazards, corrective actions, and follow-up items.
- Assist management in monitoring safety-related key performance indicators and identifying recurring behavioral, location-based, and operational safety trends.
- Provide management with observations and recommendations during regular operational or safety meetings.
- Support the development of monthly safety summaries or scorecards, including safety observations, walks, coaching, training, hazards corrected, near misses, repeat observations, and preventable incidents.
Safety Responsibilities
- Follow and reinforce all applicable Cedars-Sinai, LAZ, and established workplace safety procedures.
- Conduct operations with Safety First as a primary expectation.
- Immediately report accidents, injuries, near misses, hazards, and unsafe conditions through established reporting procedures.
- Ensure employees understand applicable operating procedures and safety expectations.
- Maintain situational awareness while working around active roadways, ambulances, valet vehicles, shuttles, pedestrians, construction activity, and parking facilities.
- Never compromise emergency vehicle access, pedestrian safety, or employee safety for operational convenience.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to make campus parking and transportation operations safer, more efficient, and more consistent.
