Job Description
Lake Regional Health System is looking for a dedicated, professional Clinical Application Analyst to join our Hospital Information Systems (HIS) team. The Clinical Application Analyst may serve as the primary analyst for acute clinical, provider and ancillary, and/or ambulatory functions dealing with workflow analysis and redesign, end-user support, implementation activity, upgrade and testing efforts, and overall proficiency in those areas.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Prepare and provide communications to project teams, clients, and departments regarding planning, system updates, issues status, and escalations.
- Ability to interact with individuals at various levels in the organization with a high degree of integrity.
- Participate in workflow discussions, process analysis, and design specifications including documentation and solutions recommendations.
- Participate in all aspects of system support; including but not limited to testing, troubleshooting issues, issue resolution, software maintenance, feature enhancements, etc.
- Participate in system build, QA testing, and validation procedures prior to software implementation.
- Provide support to users during scheduled and unscheduled downtime periods.
- Create and update system, operational, and department documentation as is appropriate, to include process design & modifications, upgrades, decisions made, direction, actions, and resolutions
- Research and adopt industry & vendor(s) best practices
- Work in a collaborative fashion and be a team player but also capable of working independently and be self-motivated.
- Working knowledge of Meaningful Use requirements
- Must be flexible and have the ability to work with multiple types of personalities
- Must be able to handle all types of confidential material with a high degree of integrity
- Must be able to handle high-priority projects
- Performs other duties as assigned

Experience
- Must be a Registered Nurse.
- The Clinical Application Analyst position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in supporting physician office clinical applications and/or acute clinical applications etc.
- This position requires a technically oriented individual with clinical (nursing, surgical services), ancillary (lab, pharmacy, radiology), ambulatory, provider, and other related process experience and excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- This individual will require an aptitude to learn and work primarily with IT systems and have an interest in focusing their career in this direction.
- Working knowledge and experience with the following is preferred: Cerner Power Chart ambulatory and/or Meditech 5.6 or 6.x clinical, provider, and ancillary modules.
- Expanse to Meditech.
Education
- College degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Information Management
- Or BSN degree with three (3) years’ experience; or a minimum five (5) years’ experience in an information technology role supporting physician practice, hospital or other healthcare type revenue and clinical systems in lieu of degree.
- Annual influenza and COVID vaccines required
