Job Description

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner Manager who will be responsible for the organization's Human Resources strategic objectives and policies. Plan, organize, lead and control Company employee relations, compensation, learning and development, employee benefits, organization and recruitment planning and development, EEO, health, safety and environmental activities which support the Company's business plan and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guides and manages the Human Resources Team in delivering services, policies, and programs generally with in a business unit or site
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, standards and government laws/regulations
  • Leads the development of department goals, objectives, and systems, while providing leadership for Human Resources strategic planning
  • Oversees the implementation of Human Resources programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations
  • Leads the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans and employee development programs
  • Establishes and leads the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce
  • Manage staff selection, interviewing, selecting of qualified candidates, training and staff development to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  • Responsible for hiring and terminating subordinate employees (or effectively recommending such decisions). Handling employee complaints and grievances; staff mentoring, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; assigning work among employees; and providing for the safety and security of the employees
  • Directing employees’ work and establish and adjust hours of work as needed
  • Establishes priorities and workflow within the department; identifies root cause, conducts analysis and resolves issues with appropriate resources departments and/or action plans
  • Provides staff with standards of performance, job responsibilities and job expectations
  • Conducts staff meetings to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced, and when necessary, modified to address changing strategic objectives
  • Ensures appropriate management of department staff, including timely completion of performance appraisals and corrective counseling, when appropriate
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices and ensures investigations are conducted on employee complaints or concerns
  • Responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining personnel policies and regulations subject to applicable laws and regulations
  • Establishes departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the Company's strategic direction/goals; while preparing periodic reports for executive management to track strategic goal accomplishment
  • Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction
  • Implements human resources strategies by establishing departmental accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance
  • Manages human resources operations by recruiting , selecting, orientating, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change
  • Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends and vacancies; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact variances


Job Specifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management or equivalent; advanced degree desirable
Years' Experience: Minimum 7-10 years Human Resources experience including five (5) years of successfully managing a Human Resources department; preferably in a technical manufacturing environment
Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in managing human resource programs, processes, administrative procedures and compliance with government laws/regulations as appropriate for the business location
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information/situations and documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication, presentation and facilitator skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization exercising sensitivity to the audience
  • Possesses a positive professional image and a high level of ethical behavior in exercising consistent judgment, discretion and confidentiality in all interactions and matters of significance
  • Possesses excellent judgement, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical, operational, organizational and complex issues in a timely manner
  • Possesses excellent leadership, team building and managerial skills with the ability to direct, energized, motivate, train, coach, assess, evaluate and develop teams
  • Possesses strong strategic/analytical, goal setting, budgetary management and financial measurement skills
  • Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results
  • Possess superior organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and negotiate and set priorities required
  • Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple and/or competing projects/deadlines prioritizing/reprioritizing as needed to meet departmental and/or business commitments and objectives
  • Possesses high degree of personal accountability
  • Ability to travel to all Applied Composites locations and/or client locations as needed.
  • Employment laws and regulations as it pertains to the state of Indiana
  • An extensive knowledge of strategic goal setting, change management and budget management
  • Strong leadership and effective interpersonal skills and effective delegation skills required
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in HRIS (preferred ADP Workforce Now)
