Senior Cloud Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Cloud Architect based in United States.

The Senior Cloud Architect will play a key role in defining and advancing cloud architecture strategies that support scalable, secure, and high-performing SaaS platforms.
This role will lead the design and evolution of cloud solutions, ensuring infrastructure capabilities align with business growth and customer needs.
The ideal candidate will combine deep cloud expertise with strong architectural vision to deliver reliable and innovative technology solutions.
Working closely with engineering, operations, and business teams, this position will influence cloud transformation initiatives across the organization.
The role requires expertise in modern cloud patterns, automation, security, and infrastructure best practices.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Cloud Architect will be responsible for driving cloud architecture strategy, delivering scalable solutions, and providing technical leadership across cloud-based platforms and services.

  • Lead the development and continuous evolution of cloud architecture strategies to support current operations and future business growth.
  • Design comprehensive architectural frameworks, roadmaps, and technical standards aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and efficient cloud-based solutions.
  • Architect highly available cloud environments capable of supporting increasing user demand and evolving product requirements.
  • Ensure cloud systems meet performance, reliability, security, and operational excellence expectations.
  • Create and maintain detailed architecture documentation, including technical diagrams, design specifications, and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to architects, engineers, and development teams to promote continuous improvement.
  • Establish and promote security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection measures across cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Engineering teams, and business stakeholders to improve SaaS platform capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies, tools, and services and recommend adoption strategies that enhance infrastructure maturity.
  • Support incident analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts through data-driven approaches.
  • Advance automation initiatives through infrastructure as code, CI/CD practices, and modern cloud engineering methodologies.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring extensive cloud architecture experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.

  • 8+ years of experience in Cloud Solution Architecture, Senior Site Reliability Engineering, or similar senior cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification expected.
  • Strong experience with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with knowledge of Azure environments.
  • Deep understanding of modern cloud architecture patterns, SaaS operations, and scalable infrastructure design.
  • Experience with serverless technologies and their practical applications.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as JavaScript, .NET, or SQL for automation and operational improvements.
  • Experience designing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, compliance requirements, and data privacy practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and support organizations at different stages of operational maturity.
  • Preferred experience with Kubernetes, container-based architectures, Windows environments, and SQL Server troubleshooting.
