Adjunct Faculty - Sport Medicine in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania at Elizabethtown College

The Exercise Science Department at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking an Adjunct Instructor-Exercise Science to teach our ESC 140 Sport Medicine course. The adjunct instructor will teach once section offered in Spring 2027 and potentially in the future depending on needs.

This position is in-person, not remote.

Adjunct faculty in exercise science are responsible for teaching students in undergraduate courses. Candidates must have the academic credentials to teach in one or more of the following areas: exercise physiology, exercise physiology lab, data collection and statistical analysis in exercise science, exercise testing and prescription, exercise and sport psychology, health and wellness promotion, and other potential courses and subjects. Part-time faculty must prepare and implement weekly lessons and lab activities, communicating with students via email and online announcements, be able to use the CANVAS online classroom platform, and provide grades and grade feedback within a timely fashion.

Adjunct Faculty Teaching Responsibilities include:

• Teach material from the approved curriculum in accordance with the assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
• Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
• Provide regular and timely feedback to students.
• Advice students in matters related to academics and attendance.
• Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
• Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• M.S. or doctoral degree in Exercise Science or related field.
• Professional certification from NSCA, ACSM, or NATA.
• At a minimum, be able to teach sport medicine and health and wellness promotion.

Preferred Qualifications:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Athletic Training.
• Current active NATA-ATC certification.
• At least 2-years of hands-on clinical experience as an athletic trainer.
• Hold current valid state license to practice as an athletic trainer.
