Registered Nurse - Pre-Operative (Pre-Op)

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and current health status

- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, pre-op instructions, and post-operative care

- Prepare patients for surgery by verifying consent, ensuring proper documentation, and addressing any concerns

- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care

- Monitor and document patient vital signs and condition prior to surgery

- Ensure all pre-operative protocols and safety procedures are followed

- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pre-op environment

Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state or region

- Proven experience in pre-operative or perioperative nursing preferred

- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, pre-op protocols, and patient safety standards

- Excellent communication and patient education skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle stressful situations with professionalism

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

- Basic life support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as ACLS are a plus
