Job Description
Assistant to the Director of Personal Care
Part-Time (Potential to Grow into a Full-Time Position)
Field of Dreams Assisted Living is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Assistant to the Director of Personal Care to help support the daily operations of our Personal Care Department. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys administrative work in a healthcare setting and takes pride in helping ensure quality resident care through strong organization and attention to detail.
This role offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as our community continues to expand.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Director of Personal Care with daily, weekly, and monthly regulatory compliance tasks.
• Maintain accurate resident records through filing and organization of documentation.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing coverage (3 shifts, 24 hour care).
• Prepare and maintain required reports, logs, and departmental documentation.
• Coordinate and conduct orientation for newly hired medical staff, including department processes, procedures, and expectations.
• Assist with policy updates and maintain compliance with New York State Assisted Living regulations.
• Communicate professionally and provide administrative support for the Personal Care Department as assigned.
Qualifications
• Previous administrative experience in healthcare, assisted living, long-term care, or a medical office preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with general computer applications.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• A compassionate, resident-first mindset with the desire to support seniors and individuals living with cognitive impairment.
• Experience with staff scheduling is preferred.
• Knowledge of Assisted Living regulations is a plus but not required.
