About Donini Chocolate
Position Overview
Donini Chocolate is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a full-time hourly position. We are looking for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical aptitude and industrial experience to support our chocolate manufacturing operations. A Millwright background is considered an asset; however, we welcome candidates with the right combination of technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and hands-on maintenance experience. The successful candidate will have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment preferably within a food manufacturing environment. Experience in chocolate or confectionery operations is considered a significant asset.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
· Maintain and service pumps, fluid transfer systems, piping, valves, conveyors, mixers, tempering equipment, and other mechanical systems used in chocolate and confectionery manufacturing.
· Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs efficiently to minimize production downtime.
· Install, modify, and commission production equipment as required.
· Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
· Work closely with production and quality teams to support safe and efficient operations.
· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with food safety, GMP, and workplace health and safety standards.
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and support preventative maintenance programs.
Qualifications
· Strong industrial maintenance experience with proven mechanical troubleshooting skills.
· Millwright certification is considered an asset but is not required for candidates with relevant experience.
· Minimum 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food, chocolate, or confectionery manufacturing.
· Strong experience with pumps, fluid handling and transfer systems, mechanical drives, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and process equipment.
· Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
· Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is considered an asset.
· Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

This position is classified within our Technical / Skilled Trades Career Framework.
Grade: P3
The P3 level reflects a fully qualified Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright with strong technical expertise, capable of independently executing complex maintenance work, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting overall plant reliability.
Progression is performance-based and aligned with technical capability, safety performance, and contributions to operational efficiency.
