Facilities Maintenance Technician (Licensed Electrician)

Location: Cornwall, ON
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $35/hr - $45/hr

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician (Licensed Electrician) to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and retrofit of our automated material handling and mechanized systems. The successful candidate will help ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment that supports critical operational activities.

This position is ideal for a hands-on electrician who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment and has an interest in automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanization and material handling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Diagnose faults using electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and performance.
  • Install, modify, and commission electrical components and equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
QualificationsRequired
  • Valid Ontario Electrician License
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical controls, motors, drives, sensors, and power distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • Millwright
  • Experience working with automated material handling systems, conveyors, or warehouse mechanization equipment.
  • Experience with automation and control systems
  • Experience supporting equipment retrofits, installations, and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of robotics and automated systems.

Role Purpose:

Maintain and repair the warehouse vehicles including all forklift, trailers, conveyors and power equipment. Provide mechanical support, including diagnosis and solution, for a dedicated delivery system including preventative maintenance, major repairs, and accident repairs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Schedule daily maintenance work.
  • Perform all repairs on forklifts, conveyors, maintenance equipment and other warehouse power equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance programs on all machines and equipment.
  • Review pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms for immediate maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all maintenance work performed both internally and externally is performed to company standards.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and performance to ensure driver compliance of company driving policies.
  • Manage parts inventory at the most economic level for efficient operation of the system.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Pass Department of Transportation exam
  • Pass a mechanical aptitude test
  • 6 months related experience
  • 2-5 years equipment maintenance experience
  • 1 year of fleet experience
