Coupa Integration Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Coupa Integration Engineer based in United States.

The Coupa Integration Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integrations that connect procurement, finance, supplier, and business systems. This position focuses on building scalable integration solutions using Coupa technologies, APIs, and middleware platforms to improve business processes and data flow. The role offers the opportunity to work across technical and business teams, translating complex requirements into reliable solutions. The ideal candidate will contribute to integration architecture, automation, security, and production stability while supporting critical source-to-pay operations. This is a hands-on engineering role suited for someone who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and driving operational improvements. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization while helping shape best practices for enterprise integration delivery.

Accountabilities:

The Coupa Integration Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable integrations between Coupa BSM and enterprise systems while ensuring strong performance, security, and scalability.

  • Design and develop integrations between Coupa and enterprise applications including ERP, finance, HR, payroll, payment platforms, and supplier networks.
  • Build and maintain integration solutions using Coupa Integration Cloud, Coupa Open APIs, and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato.
  • Develop supplier onboarding integrations covering supplier master data, contracts, catalogs, and related business processes.
  • Implement integrations supporting requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, payments, expenses, and financial data synchronization.
  • Build and maintain synchronization processes for chart of accounts, expense categories, lookup data, users, roles, and approval hierarchies.
  • Design robust error handling, retry mechanisms, reconciliation processes, and monitoring solutions for integration workflows.
  • Implement secure integration patterns using OAuth, SSO, certificates, and enterprise authentication practices.
  • Analyze and optimize integration performance for high-volume data processing, improving throughput, reliability, and resource efficiency.
  • Support Coupa platform releases, regression testing, upgrades, and production deployments.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT, and engineering teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration references, operational procedures, and support documentation.
  • Troubleshoot production integration issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term improvements.
  • Stay current with platform updates and emerging integration practices, recommending improvements and adoption opportunities.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise integration experience, technical expertise with Coupa platforms, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in integration engineering, enterprise application integration, or related technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering Coupa integrations in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Coupa Integration Cloud and Coupa Open APIs.
  • Experience working with major iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato, or similar technologies.
  • Solid understanding of source-to-pay and procure-to-pay business processes.
  • Experience integrating Coupa with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data transformation and synchronization.
  • Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, OAuth authentication, and integration security practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver reliable solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Coupa certifications or experience with Coupa Pay, Coupa Risk Assess, or Coupa Treasury are considered a plus.
  • Experience supporting global BSM implementations or supplier network integrations is preferred.
