Field Rigging Supervisor | Full-Time | Location: Atlanta, Georgia and Project Sites

Overview

The Field Rigging Supervisor serves as the primary field leader for assigned rigging and heavy lift projects. This position is responsible for supervising field crews, coordinating project execution, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and client expectations.

The ideal candidate possesses strong rigging expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to effectively coordinate personnel, equipment, customers, and operational resources in dynamic construction and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Field Supervision & Execution

  • Lead and supervise rigging crews on assigned projects
  • Oversee daily rigging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive performance
  • Coordinate field resources, personnel, and equipment to support successful project execution
  • Monitor work progress and proactively address operational challenges
  • Conduct post-job debriefs to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with company standards, customer expectations, and project requirements

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as liaison between customers, field crews, project management, dispatch, and office personnel
  • Assist with planning and coordinating mobilization and demobilization of rigging equipment and resources
  • Communicate project updates, schedule changes, weather impacts, and scope adjustments to appropriate stakeholders
  • Support effective communication between field operations and company leadership
  • Coordinate operational activities to maintain project schedules and customer expectations

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a zero-incident culture through active field leadership and engagement
  • Serve as the first point of contact for incident reporting and response
  • Participate in investigations involving incidents, near misses, equipment failures, and safety concerns
  • Conduct regular field audits, inspections, safety walks, and jobsite observations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations
  • Maintain inspection records, rigging certifications, site-specific badging, and required project documentation
  • Participate in pre-task planning, job hazard analyses, lift planning reviews, and daily safety discussions

Client Relations & Quality Control

  • Serve as the on-site technical contact for rigging logistics and project execution
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure operations meet customer expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and professionalism
  • Identify and resolve project issues in a proactive and customer-focused manner
  • Represent Superior Rigging and Erecting professionally at all times
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of rigging, crane support, heavy lift, steel erection, or related construction experience
  • Previous experience leading crews, foremen, or field operations required
  • Strong knowledge of rigging practices, lifting operations, and construction safety requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret lift plans, project drawings, engineered lift plans, and work instructions
  • Experience working in industrial, commercial, manufacturing, energy, or heavy construction environments
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate personnel, equipment, and operational resources effectively
  • Ability to travel and work varying schedules based on project requirements
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required

Preferred Qualifications

  • NCCCO Rigger Certification
  • NCCCO Signal Person Certification
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Experience supporting crane operations and engineered lift activities
  • Experience supervising multiple crews or complex project scopes
  • Experience with heavy hauling, machinery moving, steel erection, or specialized rigging operations
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred
