Junior Buyer - Denver, CO in Denver, Colorado at Barminco Mining Services USA LLC

Barminco is currently seeking a Junior Buyer to join the Denver, Colorado team!

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the procurement function, maintaining records in the supply systems and files, and assisting with international logistics tasks for Barminco projects in the USA and Canada.

Key Objectives

• Enter purchase orders into ERP system for a range of materials and services according to the project requirements
• Maintain accurate purchasing records of the procured materials
• Assist with material planning tasks and inventory support
• Obtain price lists and quotations as directed by management
• Assist with international logistics tasks and data validation
• Expedite prompt delivery of materials by category
• Engage with suppliers and assist with onboarding and data collection processes
• Meet with manager at regular intervals to discuss purchasing activities and priorities
• Ensure conduct which is consistent with Barminco’s values, policies, systems, procedures and statutory requirements
• Participate and contribute to safe working practices

Education, Qualifications and Training

• Associate Degree or B.S. in Logistics, Procurement and Supply, Computer Science, Business Administration or related fields preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain roles or sales
• Sound understanding of the computerised systems for purchasing and inventory management
• Excellent mathematical skills, including computations in Excel
• High attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Excellent computer skills, experience with MS Excel and Outlook
• Effective communication skills using the English language, in both written and verbal form
• Ability to work quickly and accurately whist prioritizing tasks based on business demands

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to 8 hour per day
• Lifting of up to 25 lbs. on a semi-infrequent basis
• Ability to differentiate between colours and shades
• This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
