Staff Accountant at Community Residences – Newington, Connecticut

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for the month end close from the preparation of the necessary journal entries through the issuance of the financial statements for both companies for review.
2. Prepare the monthly bank reconciliations.
3. Export MIP data into excel for Analysis.
4. Analyze all financial statements for questionable amounts and variance.
5. Prepare monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger, Including Individual AR accts
6. Assist with preparation of the OP-Plan, COR and the Cost Reports.
7. Responsible for the recording of all fixed assets and their applicable depreciation.
8. Perform internal & external audits deemed necessary for both companies.
9. Assist with year-end audit work.
10. Become cross trained with the other areas of the Finance Department in order

to provide coverage during sick and vacation leaves.

1. Document the allocation changes that occur throughout the fiscal year.

1. Reconcile payroll on a monthly basis to the general ledger.
2. Monthly audits of Individual Personal funds.
3. Scan all new Leases into Accounting share folder monthly.
4. Track vehicle mileage monthly.
5. Responsible for Guilmartin Lease schedules.
6. Any other job responsibilities as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related area within the Financial field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience creating and utilizing various spreadsheets.

Personal: Must possess strong analytical skills and be able to take initiative when given a project. Must be highly confidential when dealing with various aspects of the position based on the subject matter.

Other: Must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license and suitable transportation.
