Job Summary:

The Finishing and Final Inspection Operator is responsible for ensuring the quality and precision of forged components produced. This position involves the post-forging processes, including finishing, inspection, and final quality control to meet industry standards and customer specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform post-forging finishing operations such as grinding, deburring, and polishing to achieve the required surface finish on forged components.
• Use various hand tools and machinery to remove imperfections and excess material from forged parts.
• Ensure that finishing processes meet specified tolerances and visual appearance standards.
• Conduct detailed inspections of forged components to verify conformance to customer requirements and industry standards.
• Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect surfaces for defects, ensuring that the final product meets quality standards.
• Record inspection results and maintain detailed inspection reports.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in the use of measuring instruments and quality control tools.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of forging processes and materials is desirable.
• Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining or manufacturing is a plus.
• Proven experience in finishing and final inspection within a forging or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
