Job Description

We are hiring a Cage and Count team member who would be assigned to different types of shifts, each with its own set of duties. Team Member will receive training for all tasks associated with each shift type. Assignment to specific shift types will be based on operational needs.

Job Overview: Count Team Attendant

Under the direction of the Cage & Count management and supervisory team, Count Team Attendant is responsible for the accurate counting of cash assets in the count room and the movement of cash assets from the gaming floor to the Cage. This position also involves managing transactions between vault and colleague cash desks and maintaining/balancing a float.

Job duties: Count Team Attendant
  • Counting bills, coins and cash equivalent
  • Organizing and securing the storage of count carts, drop boxes, drop buckets and bill cartridges for count pulls
  • Reporting suspect cash and cash equivalents
  • Verifying and reconciling before and after counts
  • Bagging, bundling, securing and transporting counts
  • Providing information for reporting purposes
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external guests
  • Complying with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed
Job Overview: Cage Cashier

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, this position is responsible for customer service, cash administration and cash counts while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all guests and team members.

Job duties: Cage Cashier
  • Handles cash transactions including but not limited to foreign currency exchange, travelers cheques, short pays, over payments, cash counts, coins and bills
  • Monitors and reports all discrepancies and suspicious cash activities
  • Redeems value chips and gaming tickets for cash
  • Sells racing tickets, vouchers, racing programs and value chips as required
  • Verifies and processes machine fills, machine jackpots, cancelled credits, as well as table fills and credits
  • Issues opening floats to Slot Attendants (or others); reconciles closing floats and process bingo jackpot payments with supporting documentation
  • Transfers and stores floats, keys and record keeping documents
  • Documents and reconciles transactions; may reconcile bank deposits and prepare revenue reports
  • Maintain an adequate cage supply of necessary inventory and products and sale of bingo cards
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in high volume cash handling and counting is preferred
  • Must have the ability to operate adding machines, currency counters and other related equipment;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with strong communication skills
  • Ready and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and graveyard shifts
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Gaming Registration with Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO)
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain Serving It Right
