Overview

The Project Construction Manager is responsible for leading and delivering construction projects within the telecommunications sector, with a strong emphasis on financial stewardship, advanced project management, customer engagement, and technology-driven solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control

  • Oversee project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Review and reconcile project expenses, close out financial accounts, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure all financial documentation is accurate and archived for compliance and future reference.

Project Management Experience

  • Plan, schedule, and execute construction projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery.
  • Track project milestones, manage risks, and proactively adjust plans to address challenges.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to align objectives and deliverables.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to convey clear direction and expectations.
  • Obtain formal sign-off from clients and stakeholders to confirm project completion and satisfaction.

Wireless Construction

  • Lead and manage all phases of wireless infrastructure construction, including tower foundation, tower stack, equipment installation, and system integration.
  • Ensure strict adherence to industry standards and safety regulations (ANSI 10.48, OSHA and RF safety).
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver high-quality wireless solutions that meet project specifications and client expectations.
  • Comprehension of project documents such as RFDS and Construction Drawings.
  • Monitor construction progress, resolve technical challenges, and implement best practices to optimize efficiency.

Problem Solving

  • Identify project issues early and develop creative, practical solutions.
  • Make informed decisions using data, stakeholder input, and organizational priorities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk management.

Technology First

  • Leverage advanced telecommunications infrastructure and emerging technologies to streamline project management and execution.
  • Utilize project management software and collaboration tools to stay organized, maintain real-time updates, and ensure transparent communication across teams.
  • Provide technical leadership by guiding project teams, proactively addressing challenges, and troubleshooting issues using project management systems and tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. PMP certification preferred or equivalent project management credential.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wireless construction, including tower and equipment installation.
  • Minimum 2 years in a project management role with direct responsibility for multiple teams or crews.
  • Demonstrated technical background in wireless infrastructure and telecommunications systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (ANSI 10.48, OSHA, RF safety, etc.).
  • Wireless Network Systems: Expertise in designing, deploying, and optimizing wireless networks (LTE, 5G, CBRS).
  • Antenna & RRH Installation: Knowledge of antenna types, placement, MIMO, beamforming, and technology spacing.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex wireless system issues (RSSI, VSWR, etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to climb ladders, stairs, and elevated structures as needed for site access.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and traverse uneven terrain at active construction sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment for the duration of site visits.
  • Travel up to 25% to project sites, with occasional overnight stays.
