ABOUT ARTERA
Hear from our CEO, Guillaume de Zwirek, about why we are standing at the edge of the biggest technological shift in healthcare’s history!
- Revenue Recognition Ownership: Own the revenue recognition schedule across SaaS subscriptions, usage-based fees, and professional services, ensuring full ASC 606 compliance.
- Contract Analysis: Review customer contracts to determine treatment for multiple performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and renewals across complex arrangements (multi-product deals, pilots, expansions).
- Agentic AI in Finance: Design and implement agentic AI solutions (e.g., Claude Code) to automate invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue recognition workflows — improving accuracy, scalability, and close speed.
- Billing & Deferred Revenue: Oversee NetSuite invoicing for recurring and usage-based billing; maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules and contract liabilities for multi-year agreements.
- Close & Reporting: Execute month-end close for revenue accounts, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, and deliver trend, cohort, and variance commentary for executive and board reporting.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the technical accounting point of contact for Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and FP&A; partner on SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, NDR, bookings-to-revenue).
- Policy & Controls: Develop ASC 606 policies and SOX-compliant documentation for revenue, billing, and order-to-cash; serve as primary liaison to external auditors on revenue matters.
- Systems & Automation: Collaborate with IT, RevOps, and Engineering on NetSuite enhancements, billing system integrations, and revenue recognition automation as Artera scales.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Accounting Tenure: 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience with substantial focus on revenue recognition in a SaaS, software, or technology environment.
- ASC 606 Expertise: Deep working knowledge of ASC 606 as applied to SaaS and subscription models, including multi-element contracts, variable consideration, modifications, and renewals.
- GAAP & Reporting: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Agentic AI Fluency: Demonstrable ability to leverage agentic AI tools (such as Claude Code) to automate accounting and revenue workflows — specifically invoicing and revenue recognition.
- Systems Depth: Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or comparable cloud ERP) and Salesforce, including revenue management workflows.
- Industry Background: Prior experience in high-growth SaaS, healthcare technology, or B2B software.
- Analytical Toolkit: Advanced Excel and Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- CPA + Big 4: Active CPA in good standing, with Big 4 or national public accounting experience covering SaaS, software, or healthcare tech clients.
- Healthcare Tech Exposure: Digital health background with HIPAA familiarity and understanding of EMR/EHR integration and healthcare buyer dynamics.
- Public + Private Mix: Combination of public and private accounting experience — technical rigor paired with operational pragmatism.
- Rev-Rec Tooling: Experience with RevPro, Zuora Revenue, Certinia, or similar revenue recognition platforms.
- Scale Stage Experience: Supported a company through rapid growth, venture financing, or IPO/public-company readiness; familiarity with SaaS unit economics (ARR, NDR, CAC payback, LTV) and quote-to-cash.
At Artera, we believe the best work happens when people are truly connected. Our AI services model has shown what’s possible when small, focused teams move fast together — the speed of collaboration, pace of career growth, and quality of what we build can become stronger when teams share space. As we grow, we want every new teammate to feel part of an in-person community from day one.
That’s why we are focusing our U.S. hiring in three cities, where we are investing in offices and building strong local teams:
- Santa Barbara, CA (Our HQ)
- Seattle, WA
- Kansas City, KS/MO
Unless a role’s posting states otherwise, new U.S. roles are based in one of these three cities, and candidates should reside in (or be willing to relocate to) one of these areas. Each location follows an in-person schedule that reflects how our local teams work best; we’ll walk you through what to expect for your specific role and city during the interview process.
Focusing on offices and hiring in a few locations, rather than spreading thin across many cities, lets us invest deeply in each one so every team has real community, mentorship, and momentum in person.
