Powerserve Technologies is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Quality Control Specialist to support a major electrical infrastructure modernization project at a large water treatment facility in Naples, Florida. This position will initially be based full-time in Naples for approximately 12-24 months before transitioning to future electrical infrastructure projects throughout Florida.
This role is ideal for an experienced industrial electrical professional who understands what it takes to deliver high-quality installations while ensuring compliance with project specifications, electrical codes, engineering standards, and client expectations. Position SummaryThe I&C Quality Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the quality of electrical, instrumentation, and controls installations throughout the construction process. This individual will work closely with project management, field supervision, engineering consultants, commissioning personnel, and the client to verify that all work is completed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with project specifications, applicable electrical codes, and industry standards.
The successful candidate will help identify and resolve quality concerns before they become project issues while ensuring successful project turnover and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Monitor and verify quality of electrical and instrumentation installations throughout construction.
- Perform field inspections to ensure work complies with:
- Project specifications
- Engineering drawings
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Applicable industry standards
- Client quality requirements
- Collaborate with the client’s engineering consultant and internal project teams to resolve quality issues.
- Review electrical installations for workmanship, completeness, and specification compliance.
- Coordinate and document corrective actions when deficiencies are identified.
- Verify completion of punch list items prior to turnover.
- Review commissioning documentation and quality records for completeness.
- Maintain inspection reports, quality documentation, and project records.
- Participate in quality meetings and provide regular project status updates.
- Assist project management with continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and craftsmanship.
- Previous quality control, QA/QC, superintendent, foreman, lead technician, or project leadership experience on industrial electrical projects.
- Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical construction methods and best practices.
- Working knowledge of:
- Instrumentation systems
- PLC and SCADA systems
- Motor control centers (MCCs)
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Control panels
- Switchgear
- Process instrumentation
- Ability to interpret:
- Electrical drawings
- One-line diagrams
- Control schematics
- Instrument loop drawings
- P&IDs
- Familiarity with NEC requirements and quality documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Monday-Friday
- 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Overtime available based on project needs
This position will initially be based in Naples, Florida for approximately 12-24 months.
Following completion of the Naples project, this position will support electrical infrastructure projects throughout Florida. Applicants should be willing to travel as future assignments require.
Compensation- Starting pay: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
