Business Intelligence Analyst (Systems/Applications Analyst, Sr.)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst (Systems/Applications Analyst, Sr.) based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support data-driven decision-making within a complex and mission-driven environment.
You will help design, enhance, and maintain business intelligence solutions that enable teams to transform enterprise data into actionable insights.
Working across technology, operational, and clinical teams, you will analyze business needs and translate requirements into effective reporting and system solutions.
The position combines business analysis, application support, data quality assurance, and BI development expertise.

Accountabilities:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will support the development, improvement, and maintenance of business intelligence systems and applications. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with business partners to deliver reliable solutions that meet organizational needs.

  • Analyze business processes, operational workflows, and system requirements to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, define system needs, and document solutions for reporting, applications, and workflow enhancements.
  • Analyze enterprise application data from systems such as Oracle EBS, Epic, and Banner to support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Design, develop, and document new applications, system enhancements, integrations, and operational workflows.
  • Evaluate current and future technology needs and recommend solutions, alternatives, and improvements.
  • Support project coordination activities for smaller projects or components of larger initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and quality across applications and reporting solutions.
  • Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and validation processes for system updates, enhancements, and vendor releases.
  • Translate technical requirements into clear testing documentation and user acceptance test plans.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for BI applications, systems, and workflows.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents, change requests, and software processing issues in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support BI reporting, analytics, and data integration initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced analysts and end users.
  • Advocate for end users by gathering feedback, improving solutions, and ensuring delivered products meet operational needs.
  • Continue professional development through training, industry resources, and collaboration with technical peers.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced business intelligence and systems analyst with a strong background in data analysis, application development, and technology solutions. They should be comfortable managing complex projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and using BI tools to support informed decision-making.

  • Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field with four years of relevant IT experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience leading requirements gathering sessions and documenting business requirements for large-scale technology projects.
  • Experience planning and managing large-scale IT projects.
  • Experience working with BI platforms such as Cognos, Oracle, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing architecture and enterprise data environments.
  • Proven communication, analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Experience designing solutions, troubleshooting issues, and evaluating technical options.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Power BI products is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Oracle EBS, ERP financial modules, related databases, and business processes is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and maintain basic SQL code is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or IBM Cognos certification is a plus.
