Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Casting Strategist based in the United States.
This part-time role offers the opportunity to own talent sourcing and casting across a fast-paced, performance-driven advertising environment.
You’ll build and maintain a diverse talent ecosystem supporting paid advertising, organic social, and TikTok Shop initiatives.
Rather than simply filling casting requests, you’ll proactively identify people who are credible, relatable, and compelling to specific audiences.
You’ll use advertising performance data and roster insights to determine which talent profiles should be sourced and tested next.
The role combines strategic sourcing, relationship management, negotiations, pipeline development, and roster operations.
You’ll work independently with clear targets and accountability while collaborating closely with creative and project teams.
This is an ideal opportunity for a resourceful casting professional who understands how the right person can directly influence advertising performance.
- Source approximately 15–20 new talent candidates each week, or 60–80 per month, across Instagram, TikTok, Backstage, Casting Networks, Billo, Collabstr, and other relevant platforms.
- Ensure at least 30% of sourced talent consists of UGC creators, niche voices, and non-traditional profiles rather than relying exclusively on professional actors.
- Respond to and fulfill talent sourcing needs across paid advertising, organic social, and TikTok Shop teams.
- Monitor top-performing advertising creative and proactively recommend at least one new talent profile each week based on performance insights and gaps within the existing roster.
- Ensure at least 40 talent candidates complete testing each month across relevant channels.
- Own communication with approved talent throughout the entire process, from initial outreach and follow-up through testing completion.
- Manage talent progression from initial testing or “Growth House” status toward higher-performing “Powerhouse” status when established performance criteria are met.
- Review the existing talent roster regularly, activating suitable talent and identifying inactive profiles that should be flagged for removal.
- Maintain a clean, current, organized, and accessible talent database that can effectively serve multiple teams.
- Tag and categorize talent according to profile type, demographics, performance tier, and potential use cases to make sourcing and selection efficient.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure talent receives appropriate briefs and is fully prepared for shoots.
- Build authentic, long-term relationships with talent and create a positive experience that encourages continued collaboration.
- Support negotiations with talent agents to secure favorable partnership terms while maintaining clarity around scope, duration, and expectations.
- Assist with contract negotiations related to talent testing and development when required.
- Professional experience in talent sourcing, casting, influencer recruitment, or a comparable talent acquisition function, ideally within direct response, DTC, paid social, or performance marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to discover and evaluate talent across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Backstage, Casting Networks, Billo, Collabstr, or similar channels.
- Strong understanding of what makes talent effective in paid social advertising, particularly credibility, relatability, audience alignment, and the ability to capture attention quickly.
- Experience managing a talent roster, database, or pipeline at meaningful volume while keeping information organized, tagged, and actionable.
- Comfortable owning end-to-end talent communication, including outreach, follow-up, scheduling, testing coordination, and ongoing relationship management.
- Experience supporting or leading negotiations with talent, agents, creators, or other external partners.
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage 60–80+ candidates per month without losing track of details.
- Strong direct-response casting instincts and the ability to distinguish advertising-focused casting from entertainment or traditional content casting.
- Strategic and proactive sourcing mindset, with the ability to translate advertising performance and roster gaps into actionable talent recommendations.
- Highly resourceful when sourcing across multiple platforms, with the creativity to identify new channels when traditional sources do not deliver the right candidates.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine ability to treat talent as long-term collaborators rather than transactions.
- Clear, responsive, and proactive communication skills with both talent and internal stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mentality, attention to detail, and willingness to independently maintain a reliable, usable talent roster.
- Data-aware approach to decision-making, using performance insights alongside creative judgment to guide casting choices.
- Comfortable working independently in a part-time contract capacity of approximately 20 hours per week, with defined deliverables, targets, and accountability.
- Part-time, remote opportunity with approximately 20 hours per week.
- Fully remote work environment with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States.
- Global, distributed team environment.
- High degree of autonomy and ownership over the talent sourcing and casting function.
- Opportunity to influence paid advertising, organic social, and TikTok Shop initiatives.
- Work in a performance-driven environment where casting decisions are informed by real advertising data.
- Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with creators, actors, and emerging talent across diverse platforms.
- Direct impact on creative performance and the growth of multiple business functions.
- Exposure to direct-response advertising, UGC, influencer marketing, and performance-driven creative strategy.
- Clear deliverables and measurable goals that provide structure while allowing room for strategic initiative.
- Opportunity to help build and shape a scalable talent ecosystem within a growing global organization.
