Job Description
This position is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the production department. This includes managing production, maintenance, safety, quality, and housekeeping. The role involves directing and supervising production operators to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to company policies. The Extrusion Supervisor works 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. This position reports directly to the Plant director.
Requirements:- Direct Production & Maintenance: Supervise production and maintenance teams to meet production volume, cost, safety standards, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Maximize Efficiency: Promote maximum efficiency and productivity among production operators.
- Adhere to Safety & Housekeeping Standards: Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the plant operates in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Employee Training & Evaluation: Train, evaluate, and discipline employees as necessary to maintain high performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to production procedures to increase productivity, reduce waste, and ensure quality.
- Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with other teams to address problems, delays, or operational challenges.
- Maintenance of Machinery: Ensure all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for safe and efficient production.
- Adherence to Clean Zone Policy: Ensure compliance with the Clean Zone Requirements Policy to maintain the integrity of production areas.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks as required or directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities “KSA”)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of prior supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: High school diploma required; additional college-level courses are a plus.
- Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills; positive attitude with problem-solving capabilities; good verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical Ability: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on quality and efficiency.
- Judgment & Decision-Making: Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to Multi-Task: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly. Additionally, the role involves loading large rolls of plastic weighing up to 350 lbs and using overhead hoists to lift rolls up to 650 lbs.
- Manual Dexterity: The role requires operating machinery, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists, which demand fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to handle large, heavy loads safely.
- Standing, Walking, Bending, and Reaching: The position requires standing for extended periods, walking between departments and workstations, bending, and reaching to inspect machinery, adjust settings, or maintain equipment.
