Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking bold, energetic, and fearless individuals to join our team as Zombie Actors for our one-of-a-kind Zombie Paintball attraction. Each fall during September and October, guests board a vehicle and are armed with paintball guns for a thrilling mission — to survive the zombie apocalypse. As a Zombie Actor, you will portray the undead, stalking and menacing guests as they attempt to fend you off with paintball fire. It is an action-packed, high-energy role unlike any other.
Your safety is our top priority. All Zombie Actors are equipped with professional-grade protective masks and full body armor before every performance, ensuring you are fully protected throughout each shift.
This is a temporary, seasonal position perfect for thrill-seekers, performers, and anyone who loves Halloween, zombies, and non-stop action.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Portray zombie characters within the Zombie Paintball attraction zone
• Stalk, pursue, and menace guests from within designated performance areas while staying within established safety boundaries
• Maintain zombie character energy and physicality throughout the full duration of each performance shift
• Wear and properly maintain all provided protective equipment, including full body armor and protective mask, always while in the attraction zone
• Follow all safety protocols and performance guidelines established by the haunt production team
• Work within marked zones and movement boundaries to ensure safe and controlled interactions with guests
• Collaborate with fellow Zombie Actors and attraction staff to deliver a consistent, exciting guest experience
• Attend mandatory pre-season orientation, safety briefings, training, and rehearsals
• Report to your assigned zone on time and in full costume, makeup, and protective gear
• Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any equipment, safety, or performance concerns
Education, Skills & Knowledge
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to commit to the full September–October season, including all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings
• Comfortable being near paintball activity while wearing full protective equipment
• Physically able to move, crouch, lunge, and perform zombie physicality for extended periods
• Willingness to follow all safety rules, zone boundaries, and performance guidelines without exception
• Reliable, punctual, and professional — attendance is critical to our team's success
• Comfortable wearing full costumes, theatrical makeup, protective masks, and body armor
• A positive, team-player attitude and willingness to take direction
• Prior acting, performance, or haunt experience is a plus, but not required
Working Conditions
• Ability to work outdoors in varying fall weather conditions throughout the season
• Ability to perform physically demanding zombie movements — including stalking, lunging, and sustained character physicality — for multiple hours per shift
• Comfort wearing and performing in full body armor and a protective face mask for the duration of each shift
• Tolerance for the sounds, lights, and atmosphere of an active paintball environment
• Ability to remain alert, aware of surroundings, and within designated safety zones always
Safety & Protective Equipment
The safety and well-being of our Zombie Actors is our highest priority. We take every precaution to ensure a safe working environment within the Zombie Paintball attraction. All Zombie Actors will be provided with and are required to wear the following protective equipment during every performance:
• Full protective face mask — guards against direct paintball impact to the head and face
• Full body armor — covers torso, arms, and other exposed areas to minimize the impact of paintball fire
Protective equipment must be always worn while inside the active attraction zone. Removal of any protective gear while on the field is strictly prohibited. Mandatory safety training will be conducted prior to the start of the season, and all Zombie Actors must complete this training before participating in any live performances.
Availability Requirements
Candidates must be available to work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening throughout the entire September and October season. Shifts will run from early evening through late-night hours. Specific shift times will be communicated prior to the season start. Attendance at mandatory pre-season training (typically held in late August or early September) is also required.
