The VP, Territory Sales will lead a national field sales organization of approximately 50 professionals across six frontline sales teams. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this senior leader will own the territory revenue plan and drive growth across a broad portfolio of manufacturing solutions. The role combines revenue accountability, multi-layer leadership, sales transformation, and operational discipline. You will strengthen frontline management, improve pipeline and account-planning rigor, and help evolve the organization toward consultative, value-based selling. Success will require close collaboration across sales functions and the ability to unify teams through organizational integration and evolving territory coverage. This is a highly field-oriented leadership position with approximately 50% national travel and significant influence over sales strategy, talent development, and commercial execution.
- Own the national territory field sales revenue target, including forecasting accuracy, pipeline coverage, quota attainment, and performance across six sales director teams.
- Establish and maintain a consistent operating cadence covering territory reviews, account planning, pipeline inspections, forecasting, and win/loss analysis.
- Manage the territory with a P&L mindset, balancing growth investments, seller productivity, revenue performance, and gross profit against business objectives.
- Lead the transition from transactional, catalog-driven selling toward consultative, value-based selling focused on customer productivity, uptime, and total cost of ownership.
- Drive adoption of a MEDDPICC-based discovery and qualification methodology in partnership with sales acceleration leadership.
- Ensure teams effectively position and sell the full portfolio of Custom, Configurable, and Standard manufacturing solutions rather than relying primarily on traditional catalog sales.
- Optimize territory coverage, account segmentation, and seller time allocation to increase expansion opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Lead, coach, and develop six frontline sales directors through structured management practices, performance expectations, talent development, and targeted coaching.
- Own hiring and organizational planning for the field sales organization, including leadership hiring milestones and ongoing talent development.
- Build a repeatable leadership pipeline that develops future sales managers and strengthens organizational capabilities.
- Reinforce a unified customer experience across organizational teams and legacy business lines.
- Partner with emerging-account leadership to extend territory coverage and coordinate account development, ownership, and handoffs.
- Collaborate with enterprise sales teams on transitions between territory and named-account coverage, supporting integration milestones and consistent execution.
- Serve as a highly visible, field-oriented sales leader through director ride-alongs, strategic customer visits, sales kickoffs, quarterly business reviews, and other commercial activities.
- Apply data, CRM insights, pipeline analytics, and emerging AI tools to improve seller productivity, territory planning, account prioritization, and sales execution.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience leading a multi-region B2B field sales organization with full revenue ownership and a track record of delivering meaningful business growth.
- Proven multi-layer leadership experience managing sales directors or other frontline leaders who oversee teams of individual sellers.
- Experience leading significant organizational scaling, transformation, or integration initiatives, including changes to sales coverage, management discipline, and selling motions.
- Direct experience transitioning a transactional or catalog-driven sales organization toward consultative, value-based selling with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong operational discipline across CRM management, pipeline analytics, territory design, forecasting, account planning, and structured qualification methodologies such as MEDDPICC or equivalent.
- Demonstrated change-management capabilities and the ability to unify teams across legacy organizational structures.
- Strong execution orientation, accountability, communication skills, and a consistent ability to translate strategy into action.
- 15+ years of B2B sales leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, factory automation components, industrial distribution, or adjacent technical product sectors strongly preferred.
- Experience personally leading a book of business of $250 million or more preferred.
- Experience working within an organization that has scaled to more than $1 billion in revenue preferred.
- Experience leading field sales organizations of approximately 50 sellers across multiple frontline management layers preferred.
- Experience selling multi-product solutions spanning custom, configurable, and standard offerings, or an equivalent breadth of products and services.
- Strong understanding of catalog-based sales, MRO and plant-floor buyers, and the commercial behaviors involved in transforming these sales motions.
- Experience applying AI tools to areas such as seller productivity, territory planning, forecasting, or account prioritization is advantageous.
- Strong people leadership skills, with a genuine focus on developing frontline managers and remaining engaged with field teams and customers.
- Direct, transparent, and accountable leadership style with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% annually, including national and in-territory travel for customer visits, field activities, sales events, business reviews, and integration milestones.
- Ability to work effectively in office, home-office, customer, and manufacturing environments, including extensive computer, phone, and video-conferencing use.
- Ability to travel by air and drive within assigned territories, including navigating customer plant floors and manufacturing environments.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Benefits:

- Collaborative culture emphasizing respect, honesty, teamwork, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Opportunity to influence sales transformation, organizational development, and customer value creation across a broad manufacturing solutions portfolio.
