About the role:
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for supporting Divcon Controls' warehouse operations through accurate receiving, inventory control, purchasing support, order fulfillment, and shipping activities. This role helps ensure materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and available to support field operations, service activities, and project delivery.
The Warehouse Specialist works closely with field technicians, project managers, procurement, suppliers, and warehouse leadership to maintain efficient material flow, accurate inventory records, and organized warehouse systems. This position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Working under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Specialist supports purchasing, inventory transactions, cycle counting, shipment preparation, and continuous improvement efforts that improve warehouse accuracy, visibility, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations & Material Fulfillment
· Assist with daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, material transfers, order fulfillment, and shipping of materials.
· Pull, stage, pack, and prepare parts and materials for project, service, and field technician needs.
· Maintain organized warehouse storage areas, bin locations, and parts room areas to support efficient material handling.
· Receive inbound shipments, verify supplier counts, inspect materials, and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
· Prepare items for shipment, generate shipping labels, and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
Inventory Management & Control
· Assist with purchasing, receiving, transfers, inventory control, data entry, and reporting activities.
· Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are stocked, accurately recorded, and located in the correct warehouse areas.
· Verify inventory levels and bin locations within internal systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
· Perform cycle counts and support full physical inventory counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
· Enter, update, and maintain inventory and material records in applicable systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
· Support purchasing activities by assisting with material tracking, supplier follow-up, and purchase order-related updates.
· Communicate discrepancies, shortages, damaged materials, or delivery issues to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
· Maintain clear and professional communication with suppliers, procurement, warehouse leadership, project managers, and field technicians.
· Assist with monitoring material availability and escalating inventory concerns that may affect project or service schedules.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
· Participate in process improvement projects, including the adoption of new warehouse technologies, tools, and systems.
· Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions in warehouse and parts room areas.
· Move materials within the warehouse using appropriate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks.
· Follow established warehouse, inventory, safety, and documentation procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations, or warehouse management required.
· Strong understanding of basic inventory control processes, receiving practices, and material handling procedures.
· Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office required, including strong proficiency in Excel and Word.
· Experience entering data accurately in inventory systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments and with suppliers.
· Valid driver's license required.
· Experience with warehouse process improvements, inventory systems, or technology integrations preferred.
The pay range for this role is:
20 - 25 USD per hour(Dallas HQ)
