HR Systems· Shadow payroll processing
· Learn about the benefits administration process (Navigator)
· Dig deep into HRIS (Paylocity) and employee records management and familiarize yourself with the system
· Understand recruiting workflow and how the ATS works
· Learn about the PTO tracking process
Employee Experience· Participate in new-hire onboarding activities
· Serve as a translator in instances where there is a language gap
Success MeasuresBy Day 30:
? Demonstrate proficiency in HRIS and employee records
? Successfully coordinate at least one onboarding process
? Monitor LMN time and follow up on corrections
? Understand payroll and benefits workflow
Days 31-60: Own Core ProcessesPrimary GoalBegin independently managing routine HR functions.
Focus AreasRecruiting & Onboarding
· Manage job postings on different platforms
· Coordinate interviews
· Communicate with candidates
· Lead onboarding logistics (uniforms, Visa’s, Safety)
HR Administration· Take lead on maintaining employee records
· Track PTO and attendance
· Take lead on payroll processing
· Process benefits enrollment and changes withing Navigator
Employee Support· Answer routine employee questions
· Escalate complex HR issues to your supervisor/advisor
· Document employee concerns appropriately
Success MeasuresBy Day 60:
? Independently manage recruiting process
? Manage the company PTO policy and process, covering all steps
? Lead payroll with minimal supervision
? Successfully coordinate employee onboarding from offer acceptance through first day
Days 61-90: Build Confidence & Add ValuePrimary GoalBecome a trusted operational HR resource.
Focus AreasCompliance & Documentation· Maintain OSHA records
· Lead H-2B documentation
· Audit employee files for DOL compliance
Employee Development· Asses training gaps and coordinate corresponding training programs
· Lead the performance management process
Success MeasuresBy Day 90:
? Independently manage day-to-day HR administration
? Maintain compliance documentation accurately
? Present a revised, compliant employee handbook to your manager
? Be recognized as a reliable first point of contact for routine employee questions
Professional Development ExpectationsDuring the first year, the HR Specialist will receive mentorship and exposure to:

Required Skills & Qualifications
· Valid Michigan driver’s license with good driving record
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to handle workplace issues professionally
· Must comply with company policies and safety procedures
· Must pass a criminal background check
· Bilingual in Spanish and English
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred OR equivalent work experience in HR, recruiting, payroll, administration, or employee support
