SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner in this role will perform medical examinations, selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks, and other special procedures to assist in the delivery of medical services to patients.
STATUS: Full-time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

SCHEDULE: Days (Monday-Friday)

RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care. Provide outpatient care to Gynecologic Oncology patients Monday through Friday. Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, assess treatment tolerability, evaluate psychosocial adjustment to diagnosis, manage acute treatment-related complications, and order laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
Management & Development. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician and multidisciplinary team, including nursing and social work, to provide optimal patient care. Coordinate specialty consultations, assist with research data collection as appropriate, and participate in ongoing professional development. Opportunities are available to develop procedural skills, including pelvic examinations, biopsies, and other in-office gynecologic procedures.
Patient Satisfaction. Interact on a frequent, regular, and daily basis with patients, family members, physicians, nursing, social work, and other healthcare professionals. Provide education, counseling, and support while helping patients navigate their diagnosis and treatment plan with empathy and compassion.
Medication & Orders. Prescribe medications, write orders, perform approved outpatient procedures, and respond to changes in patient condition in collaboration with the multidisciplinary oncology team.
Documentation. Obtain complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories; review patient records; perform physical examinations; and document all pertinent findings to develop comprehensive treatment plans and ensure continuity of care for assigned patients.
EDUCATION:
- MS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PAY RANGE: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
