About the Role:
The Certified Nurse Aide (Non-Skilled) plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing essential care and assistance to patients in various healthcare settings across the United States. This position focuses on delivering compassionate, respectful, and safe care to patients who require help with daily living activities but do not need skilled nursing interventions. The primary goal is to enhance patient comfort, dignity, and well-being while assisting with routine tasks such as hygiene, mobility, and feeding. The role requires close collaboration with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient needs are met promptly and effectively. Ultimately, the Certified Nurse Aide contributes to creating a supportive environment that promotes recovery and quality of life for patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) recognized by the state of employment.
- Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide training program.
- Basic understanding of patient care principles and safety standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Physical capability to perform patient care tasks including lifting and assisting with mobility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a Certified Nurse Aide in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid.
- Experience working with elderly or disabled populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Monitor and report any changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff promptly.
- Support patient mobility by helping with transfers, ambulation, and positioning to prevent bedsores and maintain comfort.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and reassuring atmosphere.

The required skills enable the Certified Nurse Aide to provide direct patient care efficiently and safely, ensuring that all daily living needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
