Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Memphis office. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
About the RoleWe are seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 3 years of litigation experience to join our growing Memphis office. While experience in defense litigation is preferred, we are open to attorneys from a variety of practice areas who demonstrate strong litigation skills, excellent legal writing abilities, and a desire to grow their practice within a collaborative team environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to expand their experience, take on meaningful responsibility, and work alongside experienced litigators representing a diverse client base.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Manage an active caseload through all phases of litigation
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
- Prepare and respond to written discovery
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and team members
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Ensure compliance with court deadlines and client reporting requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional client service
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the Tennessee Bar (or ability to become admitted promptly)
- Approximately 3 years of litigation experience
- Defense litigation experience preferred, but attorneys from other litigation practice areas are encouraged to apply
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
