Athena is a creative place for leaders, risk-takers, and boundary-pushers. We partner with organizations looking to transform their presence, reputation, and performance. For more than a decade, we’ve delivered business insights, marketing strategies, and brand activations for leading organizations across industries ranging from telecommunications to major league sports.

Our people make Athena, Athena. As a three-time Philadelphia Inquirer Top Workplace, we pride ourselves on fostering an environment where passion meets excellence. We are solutions‑oriented, collaborative, and not afraid to roll up our sleeves to make work that works—while sharing a few laughs along the way.

About the role

As the Senior Manager, Social Intelligence, you’ll play a high-impact role leading social listening, intelligence, alerting, and reporting workstreams for a Fortune 50 client. You’ll help shape how the client understands emerging issues, brand reputation, competitive movement, audience behavior, and cultural conversation—turning complex social and digital data into clear insights that inform strategic decisions.

In this senior-level role, you’ll serve as both a strategic advisor and hands-on intelligence lead—partnering closely with account leadership, analysts, and client stakeholders to uncover opportunities, anticipate risks, and deliver insights that support communications, marketing, reputation management, and business strategy. You’ll also contribute to integrated digital reporting across paid social, organic social, web analytics, and broader performance measurement.

This is a great opportunity for a curious, strategic, and data-driven storyteller who loves finding meaning in digital conversation, thrives in a fast-moving agency environment, and knows how to translate social intelligence into recommendations that resonate with senior and executive audiences.

Requirements

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead social intelligence strategy and day-to-day listening operations, including brand health monitoring, issue detection, reputation tracking, competitive intelligence, cultural trends, and key business priorities.
  • Design, build, and optimize advanced Boolean queries, tagging frameworks, dashboards, and alerting systems across Sprinklr, Brandwatch, NetBase, Talkwalker, Meltwater, or similar social listening platforms.
  • Guide analysts and cross-functional partners in developing rigorous, insight-led deliverables that are accurate, timely, and tailored to client needs.
  • Analyze competitive landscapes, industry shifts, audience behavior, sentiment, and emerging conversations to identify opportunities, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop executive-ready dashboards, reports, presentations, and briefings that translate social, digital, and website performance into clear business implications for senior client leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted client partner, helping stakeholders understand what matters, why it matters, and how social intelligence can inform communications strategy, brand reputation, customer understanding, and enterprise decision-making.
  • Support real-time monitoring needs, including occasional evening or weekend coverage during high-priority moments, emerging issues, or major client initiatives.

Skills and experience you should have:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in social intelligence, social listening, digital analytics, communications analytics, market research, or a related insights discipline
  • Advanced expertise with enterprise social listening platforms such as Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, NetBase Quid, Synthesio, Hootsuite, or similar tools, including Boolean query strategy, dashboard development, and data quality optimization.
  • Strong strategic understanding of social intelligence, reputation monitoring, issue identification, audience insights, and digital measurement best practices
    • Experience analyzing paid, owned, and earned social media performance across multiple digital channels
    • Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or comparable website analytics platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to turn complex data sets into compelling, non-technical stories with clear implications and recommendations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership or executive stakeholders through polished reports, dashboards, presentations, and live briefings
  • Ability to lead workstreams, partner confidently with clients, and collaborate across internal and external teams
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, client-service environment with shifting priorities, tight timelines, and high standards for accuracy and attention to detail
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including experience presenting data visually for executive audiences
    • Experience building dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar visualization platforms preferred
    • Degree in an analytical or business-related subject such as marketing/market research, data analytics, economics, business administration, etc.
  • Experience supporting Fortune 500 or Fortune 50 brands, communications agencies, public relations firms, marketing agencies, consulting organizations, or enterprise corporate communications teams preferred.

Benefits

• Medical/Dental benefits including of 1K Health Reimbursement Account
• Matching 401K
• Generous PTO policy
• Substantial Parental Leave Policy
