Duties/Responsibilities:
- Upholds strict confidentiality while promptly reporting critical incidents through approved channels to support the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, ensuring timely emergency response and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Adheres to all workplace safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provides prompt and compassionate assistance to students experiencing injury, illness, or emotional distress.
- Performs a wide range of interior and exterior custodial, building maintenance, and groundskeeping duties to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Completes skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades, including plumbing, heating, carpentry, and general facility upkeep.
- Repairs and maintains doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, and other structural components, including painting and finish work.
- Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing, HVAC, and heating systems, including furnaces, ductwork, air-conditioning units, piping, fixtures, and related controls.
- Performs electrical maintenance and repair tasks, including servicing lighting fixtures, switches, wiring, and other electrical systems.
- Assists with minor construction and fabrication projects such as building storage units, shelving, counters, and workstations.
- Safely operates precision hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment to complete assignments efficiently and effectively.
Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Three years’ experience in the respective fields of electrical, heating, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry work.
Preferred: Certificate of completion from building trades training program or apprenticeship program. Extensive experience in the building trades.
Knowledge: Must possess a valid State driver’s license. Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license if required. Ability to operate power and hand tools. Sound working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, building maintenance & construction fields. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
