Part-Time Maintenance Team Member
Location: YMCA
Reports To: CEO
Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The YMCA is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Maintenance Team Member to help keep our facilities safe, and welcoming for our members, staff, and guests. This role plays a vital behind-the-scenes part in delivering a positive YMCA experience every day.
Essential Functions
Perform routine preventative and light maintenance of YMCA facilities, including fitness areas, locker rooms, classrooms, and common spaces.
Assist with basic building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and equipment setup.
Keep up with snow removal as needed. Mow the grounds of the facilities during mowing seasons.
Support program and event needs by setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and equipment.
Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Follow all YMCA safety and operational procedures.
Provide friendly and professional interaction with members and guests when needed.
Qualifications
Previous maintenance, custodial, or facility support experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
Ability to lift, move, and carry supplies or equipment as required.
Certifications & Training
Completion of YMCA-required training within the first 30 days, including safety and emergency procedures.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Must be able to perform duties in indoor and outdoor environments.
