About This Position
SUMMARY
The Sanitor, reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, will clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, tools, & contact surfaces while meeting the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and workplace safety. This is a 3rd shift position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Will train on 1st shift 7am-3:30pm and transfer to 3rd shift
· Perform routine cleaning & sanitation of production equipment, machinery, tools, & contact surfaces using approved chemicals and tools
· Disassemble, clean, rinse, sanitize & reassemble equipment per SSOPs/ Sanitation SOPs.
· Clean & sanitize floors, walls, ceilings, drains & other facility areas as assigned.
· Operate cleaning equipment (pressure washers, hoses, scrubbers, etc.)
· Follow proper lock-out procedures when dismantling equipment for cleaning
· Maintain drainage systems- clean drain baskets/screens, ensure drain flow, unblock when required
· Monitor and clean waste disposal areas, ensure trash is removed & containers are sanitized
· Document all sanitation activities- fill out cleaning schedules, checklists, time logs, chemical usage & any deviations
· Report any equipment damage, sanitation issues or safety hazards
· Complete any additional task as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Previous sanitation or janitorial experience preferred

Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, taste, or smell. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 - 25 pounds, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance from co-workers and/or mechanic devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to wet and/or refrigerated conditions. The employee will be handling items that may be very hot. The noise level is usually moderate.
