Surgical/OR Technologist at Medical Forefronts Management Solutions LLC – New York City, New York

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing scrub assistant skills within the operating room suite. Essential functions include:

• Anticipating the needs of and assisting surgeons and other OR staff in accordance with prescribed standards
• Adequately preparing for operative procedures in according to surgeons' preferences
• Maintain and prepare table, instruments, and supplies according to the type of procedure and surgeons' preferences
• Scrub, gown, and glove in accordance with establish performance standards
• Work with other OR staff to maintain correct count of sponges, needles, and other equipment.
• Assist in cleaning and sterilization of equipment and transport of patient

• Current AHA BLS certification
• Completion of an Operating Room Technician/Surgical Technician training program and/or current certification with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistant or another accredited board
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper sterile packaging, shelf-life, and storage criteria for maintenance of sterility.
• Two years of experience as a scrub tech required
• Experience working in ambulatory surgery centers preferred
• Experience working with the following specialties preferred: Ophthalmology, Plastics, General, Orthopedics, Pain Management, OBGYN, Robotics, and GI
